20yrs old and low t?
Never touched a cycle in my life. Got bloods done for the hell of it. Feelsbadman.
LH 1.8 (1.7-8.6)
test, serum 291 (280-800)
estradiol 23.6 (7.6-42.6)
FSH 2.8 (1.5-12.4)
Bilirubin .6 (0-1.2)
AST 45 (0-40) high
ALT 47 (0-55)
BUN 27 (5-26) high
WBC 3.7 (4.0-10.5) low
Neutrophils 34 (40-74) low
Lymphs 53 (14-46) high
Neutrophils Absolute 1.8 (1.8-7.8) low
Everything else was in range.
21 years old
5'11"
180lbs, about 14-16% BF, was somewhere over 30% as a child.
Don't smoke, had maybe 10 total drinks in my life, and usually get 8-9 hours of sleep a night. I abused caffeine pretty bad for 3-6 months last year, but have since dropped my intake dramatically.
I was fasted for 12 hours, but only got about 6 hours of sleep the night before. Bloods were taken at 7am.
Just a shitty luck of the draw in the game of life? Or is there anything to be concerned about? Thing is, I don't really suffer from any of the symptoms of Low T, save for seemingly being able to put on bodyfat easily and muscle a little harder. Think it's worth going to endo?

Your levels are definitely low for your age, but they are still within range. I would honestly leave it for now and get retested in a few years.
If you aren't having the symptoms of low test then there is no point to undergo testosterone replacement therapy.
No physical symptoms! then who cares? do you really want to be injecting yourself x1 - 2 per week for the rest of your life? 60 years potentially?? of injecting.
The choice is easy for myself.

It might be good to run a MRI and rule out any tumors, pituitary disorders, etc. The low LH is obviously the culprit to the low end test score. It might just be a bad draw of the deck, BUT, play it safe and make sure it's nothing more than that.

So what do advise, getting a full and comprehensive blood panel done (with lipid values, free test, and thyroid hormones included) or just skip straight to the MRI? Obviously, I'd prefer not to be on shots for the rest of my life, but I can't help but to wonder what effects low T will have on my life down the road, let alone on my efforts in relation to bodybuilding.
To expand:
-I've had armpit hair since 6th grade, a lowered voice since 7th grade, and have been shaving since 8th grade. I really don't think it's hypogonadism.
-The good: I really never feel "depressed," or "mentally foggy." I can control my weight pretty easily (both ways) by adjusting activity and total calories. I can get it up just fine.
The bad: I get bored EASILY. Pretty much, anything I do needs to be done with purpose. I have a hard time "enjoying myself" when I have downtime. I find enjoyment in work, college lecture, working out, and other goal-oriented activities with a defined beginning and end. I'm not sure if this is just my personality or some manifestation of "depression". My libido exists, but it takes a lot more to get the big guy moving than it did before. Maybe internet porn has just desensitized me.' Morning wood maybe twice a week.
It's really gonna come down to whether or not I want to talk to my parents about my hormone levels or not. I got my blood test done independently, but for anything past that I'm gonna need to use insurance (I'm still on their insurance for the next year). Seeing as how my parents still give me that tone of disapproval when I talk about protein powder (I kid you not, they call it a muscle enhancing powder), I'm not sure how thrilled they'd be at the prospect that I went to a lab and got my blood drawn.Last edited by funkymonk; 11-22-2010 at 10:56 PM.
