Can't find a doc to prescribe an AI or HCG
New guy here I've been reading the board off and on for about six months and thought I would break down and finally ask the question. How do you find a doc that will prescribe an AI and HCG ?
I was diagnosed with low test about two years ago and have been on test cyp for about a year and half. I switched from Androgel when that proved ineffective. I felt a lot better initially but the last six months my energy has seemed to die down.
I need HCG because my nuts have wilted to almost nothing and I need an AI because my Estradiol test hovers from 55 to 80. The problem is I've been through three Endo's and everyone reluctantly keeps me on 100 mg test weekly but refuses to prescribe the other medications.
I particularly didn't want to do an online anti aging clinic because of the price of the consultations and medications. I legitimately have a problem and I cannot get any doctor to recognize it.
Sorry for the long winded post, I guess I wanted to vent a little and hope the explanation helps you guys understand my situation.

Seems that most doctors do not deal with TRT and if they do, take a very conservative approach. Most guys on here (including myself) have had to deal with clinics in order to get HCG and AI's, but there may be someone in your area who knows of a doc. Good luck

you can get arimidex through a canadian pharmacy for the same price as it would your doc.. since most inurances don't cover it

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback, what I truly am concerned about is I suffered with Gyno for the better part of my life and had to have surgery about a year and a half ago to correct it. I've told each doctor the story and I really do have a weird sensations in my chest and all my current endo said was don't worry about it the gyno can't come back. Well...I don't really believe him.
My last blood work came in at 550 Test and my E was 65, down from 85 the last time I had blood work. I know it's not super high but because I had this condition before I think I might be more susceptible than most.
I'm not against ordering from a Canadian Pharmacy I just don't know which ones to trust. I'm also not against trying the Liquidex from the site sponser as long as it works.
By the way I'm 53 and live in Florida.

As you can see by the double post I obviously don't post much. Oh well maybe someone can delete the duplicate.

Like Pittbull said, get the Arimidex online, search for Armotraz which is one name it goes by overseas. I got mine for pretty cheap but it took me like 30 minutes of searching to find the best deal. You shouldn't have any problems ordering online. HCG might be tougher since it is considered a schedule 3 drug in many states.

You need to point out the sides of high E that they can understand.
For instance
My chest is getting really sensitive and funny feeling. I am afraid that I might be starting to develope boobs like a chick. Doc can't we please do something to lower my E levels before this happpens.
or
I am a guy I really don't want to get to the point I start to lactate before we do something about this, so please give me something to lower my E levels.
or
We fixed my low test score but I still can't get it up and I have read that my high E score is likely the reason why so can't we do something to lower it?

yes like oakdad said you can try to provide the information to SOME but your still at odds...other option is calling doctors offices and asking specifically what youre on and if the doctor will treat the particular sides (high E) from your trt...they may just take over your whole therapy...then the other is an anti aging clinic...last but not least...since your current doc at least tested your estrogen and you know its creeping up u can order from this site's sponsor ar-r a product call liquidex which is boasted to work as well as arimidex

Sorry guys, I'm new the forum, but I do know a HRT doc who will prescribe you HCG as I have it myself. Only problem is, you can't PM me, and I can't PM you since our posts are low - lol. But there's plenty of then out there. You can do some 'browsing' and find one rather quickly....
Guess I better get postinLast edited by Fevershock; 12-03-2010 at 08:48 PM.

Pretty much any AA clinic will write you a script for HCG and any AI you need. If you're going to an actual doctor, you will probably only get the HCG (if you show signs of testicular atrophy).

Which type of doctor should I be seeing? I'm going to a Urologist, GP and an Endo, and the only thing I can get any of them to prescribe is the test...and the endo was reluctant to give me that.
I know I can get it through searching online, however I don't know which companies I can trust. If I can't get a doc to prescribe either one I guess I'll go that route.
I do thank everyone for all of their suggestions and input.

You can order HCG from a few online hcg diet web sites. I could post the url but dont know if its against the board rules since it's considered a source ?

Screw all this BS in regards to dealing with quacks who claim that you don't need medications. Kick their f-kin' asses to the curb, tell them "You're Fired" for being a quack. Here's a good way to smoke a quack out of hole, you'll find out their true colors with this. I had an Endo that everyone claimed SHE was great in her field. I went to her and told her the way I felt and she ordered blood work. Test came back low-normal, E2 was close to 60 (normal range was 9-44), and my A1C was pre-diabetic. She was all up in arms about my A1C and my Lipids and how she wanted to put me on this and that. I said fine and asked her that since my E2 was way outside of my range, how are we going to treat this? She changed the subject back to my A1C (wtf?) and at that point I asked her again. Her answer....."Nothing, your Test is fine and its ok to have E2 out of range since its a female hormone. When I called her out about the "double standard" about treating some flagged levels and not others she flipped out. Claimed I was "Doctor Shopping" and that she was an authority in the field. At this point, the quack had been exposed and to think she was my 2nd opinion since another doctor saw an issue and wanted a specialist to confirm.
With that BS and wasted money out of the way, I enrolled with a HRT Clinic and haven't looked back. I'm E2 sensitive and can feel the symptoms and anxiety build when my E2 climbs. Once I started Anastrazole and HCG , the world turned around. My E2 dropped from 56 to 37, HCG is great at 300iu 2x week....I feel great.
Do yourself a favor, you'll have better luck picking a winning set of lottery numbers than you will finding a PCP who'll give you what is needed........just enroll with an HRT Clinic. You obviously have a legit need, you're not some kid trying to score a cycle, and you have a past history of hormone issues from what you stated. At least this way you'll have a Clinic legally writing you scripts that you need and you'll be able to work with a PCP on getting blood tests done to monitor your health.Last edited by Alloy; 12-04-2010 at 09:26 PM.

You know I'm starting to believe you are absolutely right Alloy, I dealt with my issues my entire life then finally had the balls to do something about then I go a number of different docs who all tell me the same thing. I don't need an AI because my E isn't that high and my previous problem can't return. Well...excuse me if I don't believe them.
Then they tell me I don't need HCG because I don't plan on having any more kids and I'm 53 that the reason for the atrophy is it's a result of the test; and besides the nuts are more or less cosmetic at this age! Really?
The only reason I haven't looked at an HRT Clinic is the price, things are a little tight right now. However with the luck I'm having trying to go through the normal medical channels is not working so I might not have an alternative.
Alloy is the HRT Clinic you use an online clinic?
JPKMAN, I'll remind you when I get 25 posts.
Thanks again

The reason she hopped on the A1C was that diabetes can make you go blind, lose toes and feet, and kill you. Low Test doesn't.
That said, she is practicing cook-book medicine because she isn't paying attention to what is bothering YOU! Point out to the Doctor that you understand that she is concerned about it, you know about diabetes, but it isn't what is important to you right now. Your low test is affecting your "Quality of life." (Use that term.) Tell her that you can't really move ahead on other 'health concerns' until this is addressed.
It ticks me off when medical people don't realize that they need to start with what is important to the patient.

[Yes and no. PM me when you hit 25 posts. Not all clinics are created equal, some will rape you and others won't. ]
Are you sure it is 25? I just tried to PM someone in this thread and got "you need 50 posts to send a PM"...
