Just got first shot and scrip

I JUST got back to the office from seeing my doc at a clinic. Went through a consult which became very easy when she realized I speak the language. I gave blood, and the test results come back in a week.

I got my first shot of 200mg Test Cyp and they will see if I need anything for estrogen when my blood work comes back. She assumed I had cycled before, but was glad to hear that I hadn't. She says that means they don't have to worry about my system being mucked up by past abuse/stupid usage.

I will be on 200mg/week and she was totally fine with me pinning at home and said I can do it twice a week to keep levels steady if I don't mind having twice as many holes in my body. She said some people can't do it. They even have a lot of people come in every week to be injected by the nurse.

She pointed out that she wrote the scrip for 400mg/week so that I can get refills earlier if needed. She doesn't mind patients being at the very top of natural levels if they are athletes or have body building experience, but she will definitely pull me back if I shoot up "into the 2000s" is how she put it.

I am paraphrasing a lot, so don't pick apart too much. I will post the test results when I get them. They did basic tests this time (I had full blood work done a couple of months ago and everything was good) and will do more exhaustive work next time once the test has hit.

I have been reading some of the other members experiences and realize I had it easy. Also, the cost for the office visit, blood work and first shot was under $200, so these docs aren't in the "I'll give you want you want, but you are going to pay out the nose" game. Refreshing.

Yeah, I am in Vegas. I won't have anything to report for a few weeks (other than blood work in a week), so that gives us time to get our post count up. :-)

I was surprised she spoke the language, and her way of communicating changed as soon as she realized I knew what she was talking about. It was like talking to a body builder. I have nothing but great things to say.

It is basically an AA clinic. They specialize in doctor-suporvised weight loss, but also do the anti-aging stuff. I am not sure what the doctor's specialty is. Well, I guess her specialty is making me happy. :-)

I wish my Doc was that in-tune with HRT. It sounds like you made a good choice.

Johnny how did you find your clinic, did you just do a search for Anti Aging Clinics in your area? What type of questions did you ask them before you made your appointment?

I'm personally having a hard time finding any doctor who knows what the hell they are doing and might have to self treat myself...although that's the last thing I wanted to do. Unfortunately they make it difficult.

JohnnyV - I just wanted to say you bastard! hehe seriously, it sounds like you found a keeper for sure. Allow's you to pin yourself, doesn't restrict you on meds, allows you to be at a high-normal level, charges a reasonable rate - nice!

I actually found them in a roundabout way. I was thinking about trying to find a doc, and someone I know when to work for this place. They told me to come in and talk to the owners about designing a website. In the meeting I found out the do AA stuff as well as their main business (doctor supervised weight loss). I didn't ask any questions before I scheduled an appointment because they said it was a free consultation...I figured I would ask all my questions there. I asked my questions, the doctor was knowledgeable and I decided to take the plunge. I had blood taken and she gave me my first shot. Bam, pow, I was done.

They seem to not be overly conservative, but I also felt like they really care about patients being supervised and healthy. I think it is a good fit for me as I am not trying to maximize my dosage. I have been struggling with a back problem that makes my workouts sporadic, so it isn't like I am trying to get big gains at this point.

good that you note that...definately be careful and use good form you can/will start lifting heavier and it's cool to start deadlifting 3 plates on each side for reps and more but CAREFUL...use GREAT form!

I am SO frustrated that I cannot lift like I used to. I am putting some thought into how I can get back to the gym safely. I need to avoid compressing the spine, so bicep and shoulder exercises are a problem. Squats and deadlifts might be out forever, or unless I have surgery.

I will be posting the info in the "workout" section for advise. I am sure there are a few others working around back problems.

Seated exercises give support, but don't keep the weight from compressing the spine. I will start light and strict and see how it goes.

The good news is I never had trouble with bicep size. The bad news is my shoulders have always lagged, and now I might not be able to train heavy. Fingers crossed.
