HRT & ED Drugs
After a couple years of abusing Anavar , I 'm 6 months into TRT due to complete shutdown. Never did PCT. First started with the patch, then the gel, and now TestE 200mg every other week. I am 6'2 210 lbs, 10% bf @ 43 years old. I work out 6 days a week doing crossfit, Body Building, and 10-12 hours a week of endurance sports. My results so far are pretty good minus the libido and wood, which apparently seems to be a problem for others. I am tempted to try HCG but want to stick with the script until the new BW this Feb. Anyway, question: Does anybody use ED drugs such as Viagra/Cialis? I recall these drugs working pretty good years ago when I was cycling, any reason they would'nt while taking Test?
Oh yeah, one last thing...been lurking here a while learning and researching and appreciate the regulars and their positive attitude.

Welcome. I'm around yr age, on 200 mg Test Cyp per week & HCG @ 250 units 2 x week. My Dr. feels HCG is an essential part of TRT. While I don't need them all the time, Viagra & Cialis are your friend! They work great. Utilize all your options & enjoy life!

kinda same protocol as above, but with a very small dose of adex also to help keep E2 at optimal levels. Needed ED drugs in the beginning, but no need for them now - ready every time it comes up.
Do you know what your E2 is? Better yet, post your initial and subsequent lab results up for us. Could have something to do with your issues. Maybe we will see something in the numbers.
And welcome!

Prefer Levitra myself (no backache later) only need 2.5 mgs and that is only sometimes now. If it works, use it.

Not to hijack, but how does Levitra compare to Cialis & Viagra? Does AR-R offer this?

I'm pretty new to TRT, been on for a few months now but I'm pretty much leveled out at 200mg ew, maybe I'll get to 250mg ew next month but that'll be it i think. Anyway, my urologist gave me samples of Viagra and Cialis right off the bat. They both worked great but I personally liked the Viagra better. He since has written me a script for 100mg Viagra through my insurance, it is super expensive. 5 100mg pills cost me 90.00 dollars out of pocket and insurance wont authorize more than 5 every 30 days. I've found generic versions online for a 100 count of 100mg pills for the same 90.00 so needless to say, it's a lot cheaper going to an underground source for these.

I'm a little surprised no one else mentioned this, but I can almost guarantee that one of your problems is the every other week dosing. You need to dose more frequently. 100mg every week is better than 200mg eow.
Have you seen any improvements?

Agree, I would dose 100mg EW. As for the ED, mine took a shot because of high E2 especially when I added the HCG to my protocol. High E2 defenently can cause serious ED.

Dragon...Just following my script, but I suspect that you are correct.
I gotta tell you though, I have been doing a daily Cialis (20mg) and what a f-ing difference. Having some serious wood just seems to indirectly improved libido.
I'll post my BW in a couple weeks and then share with you what the Endo recommends. I am hoping to increase to 150/mg a week to see what happends. Thanks all.

I agree with above: many people struggle with injecting every other week. Too much variance in your levels. Once a week is much better. I am on 200mg/week and HCG . Libido came back after four weeks. Never had ED, but I notice that I get erections a lot more often now.

I thought 5mg was the daily dose for cialis. Are there any long term side effects taking larger daily doses? My husband does great on 5mg a day, just helps performance confidence and there are other health benefits. Is more better? I mean, I know it has blood pressure lowering properties and has a positive effect on the prostate. I've just never heard of anyone using higher daily doses than that...your Doc is cool with it?

I just started the 5 mg daily use yesterday! I'll keep you posted on outcome The Cialis site says it can take up to 5 days before feeling any results; my guess is that the drug needs to build up a level in the blood stream.
BTW, as mentioned here already but the 200 mg EOW is not the best protocol by a long shot; way to many highs and lows. Better as stated is 100 mg EW or better yet 50 mg twice a week. More pins no doubt but much more consistent and smoother on the body...IMO.Last edited by steroid.com 1; 01-22-2011 at 03:39 PM.

PPC...That is a good question about dosage. Perhaps 20mg is too much...I honestly don't know but will for sure discuss with the Endo next time I see him. Others out there care to comment?
I have been unable to get a Rx from my Doc so I bought the lower dosage Cialis via the internet. Given that the doses are offered up to 100mg, I assumed that 20mg was safe. Also, to clarify, I don't actually intend on taking 20mg daily and probably should not. Its just been so fun lately!

So after some research, the max dose per day is 10mg. We just cut the 20mg tabs into fourths...so you could try that...or 10mg eod. On days when you know you'll be having sex, you could take bigger portions of the tab and save the smaller portions for down days.
But....apparently 40mg of cialis per day has been given clearance as a med for pulmonary hypertension. The dose is supposed to be split into 3x daily. I was reading that on Wiki. I'm not suggesting one should do that for sexual purposes but it must be a pretty safe drug to get approval.
So...at that dose you have not been experiencing headache or flushing?

I've tried both Rx viagra and the liquid cialis from AR-R and while they both seem to work to some degree for me, they give me HUGE headaches and unbelievable sinus pressure. So ya, whatever those meds are supposed to do down south seem to be focused on my northern-most extremeties instead.

Yea, I've taken the 20 mgs once or twice and felt it in my sinus as well...as well as down stairs! The smaller daily use i am on now (5mg) does not have the same affect...but it still does down stairs and it's way more natural.
Try the smaller daily dose and you'll see what I mean. TRT, and a strong lifting program in the gym and a small daily dose of Cialis (as part of my supplement protocol) and I am back in my 20's again
