supplements to add to TRT
I'm curious what supplements you guys are taking along with TRT. Since I've added Stinging Nettles I've noticed much more of a stable energy level. Since starting TRT in September 2010 I've added about 10lbs and am getting a lot of my strength back, but I'd really like to maximize my efforts. What would you add? Obviously quality protein and diet, but what else? I've never used any of the N.O. supplements are they as effective or is it all hype?
Thanks for any input!

No sorry I don't have any proof that the stinging nettle is the cause of the increase I just figure it's a natural herb and at $9 a bottle of 60 caps at GNC I might as well use it since I do think vetteman knows his stuff. It could be all in my head but it hasn't hurt me none by taking it. We used to talk PM so it wouldn't be a thread where he told it to me.

Stinging Nettle is supposed to lower SBGH. In one of the "stickies" at the top of this forum, this is mentioned.

Be careful...Stinging Nettle interferes with the conversion of T to DHT...and you don't want that for a lot of reasons...especially lower libido. Do some research on this stuff... Herbs can act a lot differently for people.

That is interesting... If anything though my libido has increased since adding Stinging Nettles! (My poor wife!) What are some of the other reasons for not wanting conversion to DHT? As you said, Herbs can have different reactions in different people, but now I'm curious as to what negative effects SN can have. Thanks

Has anyone had any experience with Muscle Warfare supplements (nuke, moab, napalm) along with HRT? They make some interesting claims...

All I can say is do your research. You need DHT for libido, anything that lowers the conversion from T to DHT will suppress libido and other things. I am not an MD; so just do your research and you'll come to your own conclusion. It is generally understood that Stinging Nettle will suppress the conversion from T to DHT. BTW, there are other herbs that interfere with the same conversion as well. Like I said, men will respond differently to herbs in a lot of way so I would suggest before ingesting these things test first or may end up with the negative results you're looking for...

magnesium is supposed to help prevent E2 conversion and protect the prostate. I take multi vitamin, Vit c with quercetin, magnesium and creatine (off and on).

Ok, so here's what I've added over the last week or so... Zinc, B-12, a better multi vitamin, 3,000 IU of D3 and Pre-surge from AE Nutrition. I was amazed how much the Pre-surge helped with energy for my workout. Before needing HRT when I really was into bodybuilding, I hit Ephedrine pretty hard... so anything that says "energy" has usually been nothing compared to what I was used to. But I have to say this really pushed me like an ephedrine rush.

Here's a copy of a thread that I started last July. http://forums.steroid.com/showthread...Compliment-TRT
There might be some ideas posted that will help.

Thanks Vetteman08, I read the thread and wow there's a lot going on on that thread. I take stinging Nettle as you suggested and I now take Dim as well. I take the B12 injections with my "T" and ussually just grab some vitamins without actually putting much thought into it.
Could you please give me a simple list of what your recommendations are and where you can buy them? I read about that one that's from chocolate. Phenethylamine where do you get that? There were so many posts as to what people take if it could be whittled down to a simple shopping list it of must haves would be helpful.

I've never taken the Phenethylamine (PEA), but I hear it can be pretty potent. You can get it from a few places online, look for the ones that sell bulk. Study up on it though, and use some caution if you decide to try it. It sounds like you're taking some vitamins, along with B12, which is great! The methylcobalamin (IMO) is a better form of B12 to use compared to the cyancobalamin. Might be one thing to checkout if you haven't already. Beyond that, EFA's are a definite must IMO, and I like adding a couple protein shakes that loaded up with Aminos and such. If per chance you end up trying some PEA, please give us a follow up post with your thoughts. Thanks!

Phenethylamine (PEA) is a natural monoamine alkaloid, trace amine, and psychoactive drug with stimulant effects.[citation needed] In the mammalian central nervous system, phenethylamine is believed[by whom?] to function as a neuromodulator or neurotransmitter. It is biosynthesized from the amino acid phenylalanine by enzymatic decarboxylation. Besides mammals, phenethylamine is found in many other organisms and foods such as chocolate, especially after microbial fermentation. It is sold as a dietary supplement for purported mood and weight loss-related therapeutic benefits; however, orally ingested phenethylamine is usually inactive on account of extensive first-pass metabolism by monoamine oxidase (MAO) into phenylacetic acid, preventing significant concentrations from reaching the brain.
Sounds like wiki-pedia is saying it's useless to take orally because of first pass metabolism. If this is true then whats the point in buying it?

Hey guys I am wondering is there a legal way to buy inject-able B-12 without a prescription. I am sure it's a stupid question but what the hey.
