New Blood Test from Lab Corp

    Fellas and Ladies,

Just got some lab results back and there is this note below my serum test numbers:

LabCorp now offers an enhanced accuracy testosterone test specifically designed for lower testosterone levels (test #070001; testosterone, total, women, children and hypogonadal males, LC/MS-MS). CDC and several academic societies recommend improved testosterone tests for women, children and hypogonadal males and should be performed using test #070001.

Well, maybe the medical community is coming around a little bit after all -

It was on mine as well but I didn't think anything of it since I am new to this I figured it has always been there.

Did they boost up the low end of the testosterone scale to make anything uder 300 to be labeled as low test for a man? Some of the older guys I talk to at the gym tell me that on TRT their docs are keeping them above 500 on total test scale and above midrange on the free floating test and that they feel great at those levels. I'm trying to stay informed because I know some day I'll be on it. I had a lot of head injuries as a kid motorcycle related, fights, car accidents, etc, and the doc has already told me that my pituitary gland could quit anytime. That he has seen this happen in a lot of patients with head injuries earlier in life.

Idk, I didn't get that test - so the ranges on mine were 249-836. I came in at 1009 - which is perfect on day 3 after injection for me. I am guessing that maybe they did modify the ranges and I will request this test next time just to see what the ranges are for everyone.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see the differences in the newer tests.
