test levels
if your testosterone was around 500ng/dl, and you could get a prescription from a doctor would you go on testosterone replacement ? 500 isnt low but if you could bump your levels up to 800-900ng/dl wouldn't that be a huge difference in your quality of life? Lets say at 500ng/dl you dont have symptoms. is TRT worth it? or should you wait? and when i say you dont have symptoms i mean everything is ok, but just ok, not great. what would you do?

If you really go to a doctor and a blood work is done, and states that your level are low, he can prescribe you test to reach some levels. but remember, most insurance don't pay for, and you need to pay for bw and doctor's visit, I need a good reason to tell the doctor that you need this blood work done.

depends on your goals
what is your age, stats?
as i reread you post it sounds like you dont feel 100% healthy...but you offer very little its hard to advice anything other than to look into it (your health)

ok guys ill tell you everything. Im 22 years old. a few years ago i was feeling bad and i went to my dr (kaiser). I told him my symptoms fatigue, low sex drive, memory loss and he basically said its all psychological. I pleaded with him to test my testosterone . When i got my results i was at 324ng/dl. He said i was fine. I tested again a year later, came back 364ng/dl. Went to another dr, had more bloodwork, and it turned out i also had low thyroid function, TSH 2.48. im on cytomel and levoxyl now. I had more bloodwork and my testosterone levels went up to 514ng/dl. I dont have a lot of low test symptoms but my life is kinda blah. I feel ok but i want to feel great. Im a junior in college and i want to have fun but i dont have lots of drive to get out, be sociable, meet girls. I just feel like im missing out.

do u have any passions/hobbies or do u just go to college....if your only hobby is playing video games find some girls there...do u need to get into shape and build confidence? i asked your age and stats now theres your age...what do you want us to do say YES or NO to whether you should take the RX from your doctor and run? why would u need our permission/advice...cuz we are all doing trt as well? you can have higher test levels and still feel blah bro thats my advice....if your doctor says you need trt you dont need our permission but i'm just saying that you can be pretty depressed even though your oozin with test

Im not searching for the holy grail of happiness, i know there no such thing. I completely understand that all my problems cant be solved by TRT. I just want your guys opinions because you are probably just as knowledgeable on the subject as any dr. Should i be happy with what i have? I dont want to try TRT then realize its not what i want to do. is it worth the risk?

It sounds to me that losing weight and working out has you going in the right direction. At your age and with your last test number I wouldn't even think about TRT... that's just my opinion

I agree. I can't believe your doctor is willing to prescribe you (given that it is an actual physician). Either way, TRT is not the answer for you.

Provided that there were no negative sides, yes.

yeh you're looking for a boost with a legal script....make sure u educate before u medicate...
like toad said...good transformation so far....5 or 6 months til summer bro....keep up the hard work...check out the diet section on this site and post up your workout....if u were to do AAS you wouldnt want trt as this is for life...is that all u want are abs?

IMO, this is not giving him sound advice. TRT is for life once started & there's no guarantee that simply raising his levels will accomplish anything. He already seems on the right track through addressing his thyroid & workout regimen. TRT is not an end-all. There could be a multitude of things contributing to the OP feeling "kinda blah". He's too young to just jump-on-board without exploring all possible options first...

I will use my time worm comparison: do you want a little higher Test level more than a car? Because that is how much it can cost. A cheap car, yes, but with doctor's visits, blood work, Test and HCG you can spend a few hundred a month. It isn't just injecting Test and feeling better. Think of how much money you will spend just until you hit forty. That alone could be $40,000 (18 years at $200 a month, $60,000 at $300 and don't even think of HGH).
