    Follow up with the doc

So I went to see the doctor today to get blood work done to see what my levels are at since being on TRT since April 9, 2011. I also talked to him about the HCG , Arimitose Inhibitor, and the acne that I have gotten a little of.

I mentioned to him I was worried about my chest so he said maybe the AI is something you need. So he prescribed me Arimidex 1mg. Says to take twice weekly on the prescription. I don't know if this is too much and he just took a guess since I was so worried about my estrogen that he really did want to knock it down. He told me the warning signs of complete loss of libido and dehydration to watch for.

He also prescribed me Minocin 100mg for my acne. have not done my research on this yet. Will do that this afternoon.

Then we got onto the subject of HCG. I am the one who actually asked for the prescription after reading about it on here. Well he tells me that he takes it. I am thinking in the back of my head..."You take it and know what it does and yet you didn't feel the need to prescribe to me in the beginning." Kind of made me a little frustrated to hear that he was on it, but had not prescribed to me.

So here is my prescriptions so far, barring any change after blood work comes back this time. Mind you it might change because I was not anything other than Tamoxifen and Test before this blood work

    Test Cyp--200mg once a week
Tamoxifen--10mg once a week with shot. I will have to check dosage to verify
    HCG--1/2ml twice weekly
    Arimidex--1mg twice a week
    Minocin

I am sure things will change again after I get my next blood work done and we get results after including the AI and HCG.

So I was wondering how long should I wait to get blood work done again since I am just now starting an AI and the HCG?

Tamoxifen (Nolva) is commonly taken to keep Gyno at bay. It is a SERM and not an AI. I am not sure if taking both Tamoxifen and Arimidex is needed. If your E2 levels are high Tamoxifen will not bring them down. But if you have gyno symptoms and reasonable E2 levels then Tamoxifen could be the ticket.

If you take an AI and keep E2 levels under control and have no gyno symptoms, not sure why you would take the Tamoxifen.

Did your blood work show elevated estrogen? I self-medicated with a small amount of Arimidex when I upped my Cyp dosage and after a week I was dried out and every joint in my body hurt. I stopped immediately and went back to feeling great. A few months later I had blood work done and found out my estrogen levels were great/low. My doc said "wow, we will probably NEVER put you on meds for Est, and I don't recommend you ever take any." I kept my mouth shut and learned my lesson: guesswork is useless, blood work is all that matters.

My doc didn't put me on HCG for a while either. He wanted to see how I did with the Test first. Easier to see how your body reacts when you add one new thing at a time.

I get blood work done every three months if we are changing things.

None of this is advice, just personal experience.

Here are the results from my blood work the very first day I saw this doctor. Before any test. I have always been a over weight person. Hell I remember having to diet in order to run the ball in youth football in 6th grade. LOL!!! And I have always had "titties". And yes there is a "lump"(tissue) whatever you want to call it under my nipples. More pronounce on my left than right. And I have always had big nipples for what I consider on a guy. So I really don't know if its gyno or not because I have never been medically diagnosed. But I have noticed that my damn nipples get hard at the drop of hat since I have started TRT. Don't know if that is a symptom, but it just kind of worried me. I will see if I can find a picture of me and post it up and you all can give me your opinion.

    RESULTS RANGE
    Testosterone , Total, LC/MS/MS 419 250-1100ng/dL
    Testosterone, Free 44.9 46.0-224.5pg/mL
    Testosterone, Bioavailable 108.0 110.0-575.0ng/dL

Albumin, Serum 5.3 3.6-5.1pg/dL----Not sure about this one, copy is not very dark
    Estradiol 33 13-54 pg/mL
    PSA, Total .8 < or = 4.0 ng/mL

i wouldnt be frustrated bro...you got him on board and thats all that matters...congrats man

about your e2 and when to test again....i would imagine it went up from 33 on 200mg of test...but unless your feeling symptoms i wouldnt take more than .25 eod or 3straight times from your shot...definitely dont take those 2mg every week....if your feeling fine now i would wait they can prolly give you this most recent lab result over the phone in a day or 2...as far as follow up since taking AI 4-6 weeks imo

Thanks jpkman. What symptoms should I be looking for? I feel pretty good right now, but I was just wondering about my chest. I want to get the most out of this and see improvements. I have a call into him to see about the dosage, because I got my prescription last night and the pharmacy wrote on the bottle 1mg tablet twice daily. WHICH I KNOW IS WRONG!!!! Plus they only gave me 15 pills. Which means to me I don't think they read his prescription correctly. Hopefully they will call me back today and let me know for sure. If not I am going to start out at .25mg EOD and get tested in 6 weeks and see what that does.

Will it do anything bad to stay on the Tamoxifen even with the AI? I am only taking it once a week so its not that much of a dosage.

Okay, I just got a call back from the doctor and I am supposed to take two 1mg pills a week. So just 2 mg a week. Is this still too much? Should I drop it to maybe 1mg a week

I need some help with dosage on the Arimidex . Last thing I want to do is drop my Estrogen too low.

I know that I just got the prescription for Arimidex and I am probably just jumping around here, but I have read that Letrozole is far better than Arimidex. I also notice that AR-R sales it. Should I just get that use it instead of the Arimidex or should I just stick with what the doc gave me?

I just want to make sure I am putting the best stuff in my body that is going to work and give me the best results.

Letro is a lot more powerful, and if you go with it you have to take a lot less.

I seem to not tolerate Arimidex well. I feel really crappy from it. I don't get that from Letro. I was taking Arimidex at 0.25 mg twice a week. I take my Letro twice a week too, but I take "drops" not mgs. I only need to reduce my E2 a little bit (about 8 points) to be in the good range, so "drops" may not work for you.

Well I started my dosage of Arimidex Friday. I took a 1mg tablet Friday. I think that I am going to cut that down though into .25mg EOD. I also don't know, but I may be getting some sides of Arimidex. Saturday night I was finishing up my sleeve tattoo and the guy had me laying down in the chair. Well when I went to get up I had the worst lower back pain I have ever felt. I also have noticed my hips being more sore than normal(I always have problems with my hip flexors). I also woke up with a VERY sore throat this morning, but I may have caught the cold that my wife had last week. I also have noticed that my feet are sweating more than normal. Not a good thing!!!!

So I was just wondering if maybe taking the 1mg tablet all at one time messed me up or are these actual side effects of Arimidex and would I have gotten them even at .25mg? I am wondering if i shouldn't call my doctor and ask him about Letro? The last thing I want is to get side effects that make me feel bad.
