Free Testosterone
My Testosterone levels are as follows:
Total test 344 (249-836 ng/dl)
Free Test 6.9 (8.7-25.1)
I know that Total test is the total amount of testosterone and that Free is the amount of testosterone that has not been used yet.
BUT, what does this mean to me?
How is the Free Test usually used up?
Is this why ever time I lift weights I get weaker and every time I increase my caloric intake to prevent getting weaker I just get fatter?

Ohhh dang! I saw the title to this thread and thought I'd be first in line for some free Test.......how disappointing.
Good questions, not for sure but this might be covered in the stickys at the top of this forum.

well your close but just a lil off, let me help you clarify.
when test goes into our blood stream, wether from inject or from balls (oddly T is actually made in other tissues besides balls, but not much), 98% (roughly) gets attached to albumin and SHBG. when this happens it floats around and doesnt do to much. the free testosterone is what gets attached to receptors and actually does something. if its not free its not good for much except aromatization.
so now you can see why free T is much more important, its the T we use for androgenic and anabolic effects.
this will tell you every thing you need to know about what it does for HRT purposes.
