    Advice about TRT

I never really post on any forums but consistently read through for good info. I've recently had my hormone levels checked and my doc came back with 299 total and 68 free test. It was a military Doc and he told me I was good to go. I asked to be refered to a specialist, who I will meet with Monday to discuss possible options. My issues are as follows: First off I am in the military and deployments are consistent and unpredictable. Meaning having to inject weekly or rub gel on myself daily could be difficult. I want to do whats best for my health but am wondering if I caused the issue. I have done two cycles with about 8 months between the two and the last one ending in November 2010. They were both test enth and deca . Played with the doses a little but about 750 test and 600 deca weekly. Pct was HCG and nolva. The first I recovered great and continued to gain strength. The second was terrible....lost a little strength, lost a lot of libido, and gain some unneccasary weight. I never had blood work done before so I don't know where My start point was but I am wondering If I continue to wait it out if maybe my levels will creep back up. By the way Im about 215 at 5'9'' and around 14% BF. Also wondering if there are any military guys on here that are on TRT and deploy regularly.

I think you should post in the PCT or cycle forum.

I thought this might be a better place being that I completed a pretty standard PCT almost 7 months ago. But I will try it their as well.

You're in the right place if trt is in your future. IMO your cycles have effected your current levels. There are a number of guys who cycled and are now on trt.
    What symptoms are you experiencing?

Talk to the specialist and see if HCG can be used to get your natural test levels up. Starting TRT should be a last resort.

I'll be watching this to see how it goes for you. I've been thinking about going to the VA to see if they will put me on TRT there. The cost of the clinic is getting to be annoying, seeing as so many guys are just paying a co-pay for visits and my insurance will cover the script (just can't seem to find a competent doc to write it!!) I can't imagine that the VA is going to hook up 200+ shots of test-c and deca though... hahaha...good luck man. Thanks for your service!

I wish you well at the VA. A friend of mine who goes there was put on TRT, Androgel by his VA doctor. Never gave him a choice and refuses to let him go to shots. All he is allowed is Androgel even though the cost for shots is much cheaper. He is looking for an outside doctor but as you say it's going to be expensive if he goes that route. So he is pretty much stuck with the VA for insurance reasons. Most regular doctors just refuse to allow their patients to take shots for TRT, even though both the shots and the Androgel are both Class 111 schedule drugs.

How about your E2 levels? If you haven't had them tested, it's worth the $45 to request your own online if your VA doc won't do it.

Best of lucks and thanks for taking the point! You have my respect and gratitude.

You might consider a clomid restart first to see if that will return you to pre cycle levels. Clomid resarts use low dose clomid (25mg a day vs 50mg) for extended periods of time (3 to 6 months to a year if supervised by a doctor). Some males, especially younger males, are successfully restarting their natural testosterone production with this.
