Long Term TRT and Liver Protection

For you long-term guys on TRT, I have a question about protecting the liver. Sorta just looking for some input here, cause it's an unanswered question... long term effects of TRT via injectable test on the liver.

Even something to be concerned about?

You dont need to be concerned about TRT and liver problems.

I believe other lifestyle choices/events may impact your liver's ability to function, but not TRT as practiced by most of us here. Your liver's abilty to function properly will impact, to some extent, how successful your TRT is. Did that make sense to anyone?

If you are injecting or using a cream you are bypassing the liver completely so there should be no complications whatsoever. There are digestible forms of Test but due to the impact on the liver it is hardly if ever prescribed.

The liver has several functions. 1. Convert old red blood cells to bile. 2. Store extra glucose as glucogen until needed by the body for 24 hours, then it goes to fat if not used. 3. Production of cholesterol, regulates amino acids in the blood, regulates fat in the blood through proteins, AND 4. Filters the blood of TOXINS AND CHEMICALS neutralizing them or sending them to the bowel to be excreted. As you no doubt have noticed, when you read the labels of alot of 'convenience' foods in the grocery store it has a list a mile long of chemicals you have no idea what they are. Preservatives, artificial flavors, colors, flavor enhancers, etc. So the typical American diet keeps the liver working over time filtering the junk out that's in our food. The more 'pure' a food is, the better for our body and our liver. Hope this helps.

Indeed. Well the fact is that injecting synthetic test in the amount of 200-300mg/week seems like it would keep the liver under constant strain of some kind. But if it's nominal, which at this point is sounds like it is, then it might not be of much concern. Good post though dude, nice refresher on why the liver is so important... afterall, it's based on the word LIVE. =p

I started taking milk thistle a couple of years back. Inexpensive, and it cannot hurt you.
