I honestly don't know, but I would go more than once a year if it has risen. Don't want to mess around with that.

It's normal to increase slightly under a TRT protocol and it will stabilize. You don't, however, want it to go over 1.

Prostate cancer and Test is old school. More modern research studies have debunked this theory. Think about it for a minute; why do older men with low T and high E2 levels are higher risk of prostate cancer but 20 year olds with high T and low E2 levels at extremely low risk of prostate cancer???

Testosterone and prostate cancer: what are the risks for middle-aged men?

Urol Clin North Am. 2011 May;38(2):119-24

    Authors: Morgentaler A

With increased recognition of the benefits of testosterone (T) therapy for middle-aged men, there has been a concomitant reexamination of the historical fear that raising T will result in more prostate cancer (PCa). Studies have failed to show increased risk of PCa in men with higher serum T, and supraphysiologic T fails to increase prostate volume or prostate-specific antigen in healthy men. This apparent paradox is explained by the Saturation Model, which posits a finite capacity of androgen to stimulate PCa growth. Modern studies indicate no increased risk of PCa among men with serum T in the therapeutic range.

BTW, Dr. Abraham Morgentaler is a renowned TRT Physician and on the cutting edge.

Your PSA is nice and low which is excellent however given it rose from 0.1 to 0.3 in just 30 days is reason enough to have it checked at least twice a year. What you don't want is for it to continue to rise throughout treatment. So for instance if it goes from 0.1 at baseline to 1.1 a year later is reason enough to have a biopsy. The good news is about 70% of all biopsies come back with a clean bill of health. Here's a great article to read on T therapy and the health of the prostate: http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2008/...-Cancer_01.htm

The anti-aging standard for your PSA is to stay under 2.5
