    TRT Clinic Pros and Cons

Whatever your purpose in pursuing therapy, it is an unfortunate reality that some TRT clinics are extremely profit oriented and often downright ****ing shady. I didn't make the clinic scene this way, but I still find myself having to deal with it.

So I decided to start a thread where people can list their personal requirements when they look for a TRT clinic. Along with that, I thought it would be helpful to make a list of potential "deal breakers" that a clinic might do.

Please don't list your clinic. Even if we disagree about what the pros and cons of clinics are, there will still end up being some common denominators that anyone could look through and use to evaluate their own clinic and decide if it is time to find something better.

    Here are my own requirements:

    • Competitive prices
    • Potential for self directed therapy
    • Potential for self directed dosing (within reason)
    • Self administered therapy
    • Multiple options for medication choices
    • Option to talk directly to a doc, if necessary
    • Honesty
    • Friendliness

And here are my deal breakers:

    • Attempts to up-sell medication
    • Aggressive sales tactics
    • Unsolicited phone calls
    • Fluctuating prices (especially if they ask what I can afford)
    • Any attempt to get me to refer friends/family
    • Contingent medication requirements
    • Requirement that I physically visit the clinic

And here is my wishlist, for a perfect world:

    • Local
    • Accepts my insurance
    • Fill prescriptions at the pharmacy of my choice

Now I see the difference between what you have been talking about, and what I have been calling a clinic here in Vegas.

Self-directed therapy: Nope, I want a doc that knows what they are doing setting my regimen.

Self-directed dosing: Nope, I want it decided by blood work.

Self administered therapy: Hell yes. I am not driving across town to get a shot.

Multiple options for meds: Nope, Cyp does me fine and I don't think Deca etc. are needed for TRT.

Option to talk to doc: I only deal with the doctor directly. In person.

    Honesty: Necessary.

Friendliness: Not necessary, but appreciated. I value truth and efficiency over friendliness.

Your deal breakers: totally agree with ALL of them except the requirement to physically visit the clinic. It is the opposite for me. I demand to deal directly with the doctor.

So basically you're looking for a juice dealer that takes insurance.

I look at it this way, and I don't use a clinic. I'm in charge of my health and the doctor is there to work with me to achieve optimum health based on BW as well as all other relevant factors including my knowledge of my own body. Clinics are not and should not be Mexican pharmacies. But neither should your doctor hold all the cards when it comes to your health. TRT is for life. All your cards should be on the table so an informed decision can be made between the both of you.

I've said it before, I'm a big boy and shady people have no sway with me, educate yourself and then tell those shady bastards exactly what you want and what it's worth according to their competition. Take it or leave it, clinics are a dime a dozen. Or if it's too big of a problem for you or you have health issues that you just cant get straightened out find a doc or drive to see doc Crisler .......problem solved.

I think there are many who want a legal dealer and the clinics are just that at first glance, but the prices are usually prohibitive.

Yeah, I should have said "typically not needed." The other drugs in his other post were even more off base than Deca (in my opinion), but I couldn't remember what they were and was too tired to look it up.
