Help Rebalancing My Hormone Levels After Going on a Cycle

6 months ago I found out I had low testosterone levels . I'm secondary hypogonadism. My total test was 200 with a ref interval of 249-836 and my free was 8.7 with the R.I being 8.7-25.1

My doctor put me on 60mg of test cyp a week, 2 shots of hCG 500IU a week and 100mg of transdermal DHEA a day. Blood test later showed I raised to 441 total test and 10.9 free. He bumped me up to 80mg of test cyp a week and my recent test was 816 total and 21.4 free. He chose to keep me at that level. I feel a little better than I used to, but nothing special.

I have been working out consistently and have put on some muscle mass. I am addicted to working out now and was thinking about increasing my dose.

I was thinking about increasing my levels for 1-2 months and then bring them back down when I'm due for blood testing again in about 3-6 months.

If I take my cyp levels to 200-500mg a week can someone tell me what to do to get them back down to the 800 level? Would I go cold turkey for a certain period of time? As soon as my cycle is over would I just cut back down to 80mg a week?

I'm not sure what to do and appreciate any help you can give me...thanks

Couple issues. First, what is your E2 level? Is that even being tested? Are you on an AI?

Maybe the reason you aren't feeling that much better is because your E2 has gone up along with your T.

If you do 200-500 mg of T a week, you will definately have E2 issues without an AI. Figure the E2 thing out first.

Agree with GNBM, get e2 checked and under control. As far as coming off a cycle and going back to an 80mg a week TRT protocol......just do it, you're on TRT so you no longer need to worry about PCT for your natural test levels, thats what the 80mgs does, replaces your natural levels.

agree about the e2 check/AI needed..

if you tried going higher for a while and you went back down to the normal dose a month prior 2 bloodwork you'll be back in that 800 arena/area roughly

Going from 80 to 200 would be a big enough jump. don't really think you need to hit 500. Small steps first. figure out your other issues before you dive head first into a "cycle" and possibly cause more problems.

Thanks for all the replies guys. When I was on 60mg of cyp a week my Estradiol level was 18pg/mL with a ref range of 3-70. That test was a sensitive test though and more accurate. My latest Estradiol was not the sensitive test that my doc likes from Lab Corp at it showed 54.2pg/mL with a ref range of 7.6-42.6. My doc thinks it was a bunk reading and I will make sure I get the sensitive test done next time.

Here's some other tests in case it's helpful

    DHEA-Sulfate 150.1 ref 88.9-427
    TSH 2.420 ref .450-4.5
    SHBG 19.6 ref 14.5-48.4

When I first started taking test 6 months ago my nipples were getting sore. It went away after 2 weeks. I told my doc and he said no worries. Body was just getting used to test. I have not had any issues since and doc has not suggested arimidex yet.

Time to introduce your doc to Dr. Crisler's protocols. In a nice way, that is....Go to his website and study up, if you haven't already. Good luck and welcome to the site.

You know guys not everyone's E2 goes high on Test injections at the levels he's currently taking.

He will probably need something (AI) during a blast period though.

The 54 number is practically useless since it was not a sensitive test

I've emailed the site and havn't heard anything yet. I have no ability to send PM's to anyone. Below is what I get when I click on someone's name and profile. Same thing happens when I go to my inbox.

Hey guys, I recently got my E2 done. The sensitive #140255 test. I'm at 30. 3-70 reference range. I am taking 80-90mg of cyp a week. I would like like to bump it up to 200mg for about a month. Do I need an AI. Would A-HD from BPI work? Thanks

Bump. I have a consultation with my anti-aging doc on Wednesday. Based on my E2 being 30 do you think my doc(very well known) will prescribe me Arimidex . I would like to do a 1-2 month blast and don't have any abilities to get anti estrogen support. Would a supplement like A-HD work? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hopefully he will prescribe the AI and you will be in the clear. If not, look at AR-R at the top of the page, and get some Liquidex. It's the real deal!

30 was the lab report from Labquest. My E2 was only 18 when I was on 60mg so 30 is probably right for 80mg.

I have my consult with my doc tomorrow. Is there anything I can say to persuade him to prescribe me AI?

If not is Liquidex the answer like vetteman said? thx

Ok, so I had my consult and didn't get AI. I told him I still am having fatigue, slight depression and just a general lack of energy. He moved me up to 100mg split into 2 50mg shots on Monday and Tuesday. I have to consult back with him in 3 weeks so I guess I'm going have to wait on the blast.

I take 90mg of zinc a day. Would soy isoflavones be a good addition to clear estrogen too? thx

If your e2 is 30 I wouldn't mess with it, it's damn near perfect. Some of us need an AI and some not so much, just keep an eye on it.

Does anyone else do biweekly shots? Has it made a difference in your energy, vitality, overall sense of well being?

I just always seem to have a lack of drive and spunk to do much. The only thing that really helps is high doses of caffeine and I've been trying to really stay away from it.

biweekly shots are bad! twice a week is the best, even better than once a week. i just started injecting twice a week, its too early to report anything, but so far i feel great!

i like injecting twice a week. feel less bloat, less swing of mood, etc.

twice a week is the most frequent i wanted to go with dosing, anything more frequent and your whole life becomes about TRT (more than it already is, haha)

my doc actually asked me to switch back to once a week for the next 5 weeks til our followup appt

When I said biweekly I meant twice a week. Monday's and Thursday's. I've been on TRT for six months now and don't feel greatly better. My girlfriend says I'm way better than I used to be. She says I'm not as moody and short with people. I just want to have more lasting energy throughout the day and the drive I used to have. My diet is great. I eat at least 3500 clean calories a day even though I try to get over 4000 to build some muscle. I'm taking more vitamins/supplements than a health food store. I work out with weight 4 times a week. Mon-Tues-Thurs-Fri Just not sure why I'm still kinda in the dumps.

Maybe it has something to do with my adrenal fatigue still. I take 10mg of hydrocortisone in the morning to get me going or it would take me hours just to get going.

I took the start of my new regimen by taking my 2nd shot of the week this morning. Hopefully this will make the difference to kickstart better recovery.

    yeh biweekly wordage confuses...

yes, some here swear by injecting TWICE A WEEK...they are in the minority but have sound reasoning...i tried it and saw no difference...every 7 days is fine for me

    come on guys.....

    semi-weekly = twice per week

    bi-weekly = every two weeks

lol, hopefully this resolves the great bi-weekly debate. in al fairness, i STILL screw it up

exactly...thats what i'm saying...its a confusing term and counter productive imo...you dont even save many letters by using it instead of twice a week
