    Vitamin D3 and muscle cramps!

guys, i know this is probably not the right place for this question, but since it was recommended by my clinic due to being on TRT i thought I'll ask it here.

i bought a bottle of vit. D3 10,000 iu per dose, i take it once a day. i started experiencing cramps on my calves right after i started taking it, then two days ago i took two servings (20,000 iu) and my calves were cramping like a SOB! i thought it was the anastrozole, but when i stopped taking D3 the cramps went away the next day. so i did some research for side effects and one of them is muscle cramping. has anyone experienced this from D3?

I've never had any sides. My blood D level is on the low end, so maybe that is a factor?

its a gelcap, i can't split it. i did blood work and one of the tests is checking vit. D level, so we'll see if i am over dosing!

I have a theory. D3 increases Ca utilization. When you utilize Ca you invariable also use Mg. So if you have low D3 before, and started taking a lot more w/o taking more Ca and Mg, this would cause the cramps. A Ca and Mg deficiency commonly causes cramps.

Try taking more Ca and some more Mg and see if that helps. It's only a theory, but it makes sense to me.
