Negatives (that I can think of) are:
1. Cost
2. Slight inconvenience
3. Possible blood changes - red blood cell count and possible cholesterol changes if I remember right, but no problems for me yet.
4. Testicular atrophy - easily counteracted for me with hCG
5. Possible infertility. I am not sure on the infertility issue as I haven't done much research. Most of us are in our 40s, so probably don't care.
None of the above come close to the advantages I have experienced.

Johnny's last sentence 10X!
There are other negs as well like getting an nasty staff infection from not injecting correctly and keeping an eye on all inventory levels but these are easily minimized.Last edited by steroid.com 1; 10-24-2011 at 07:42 PM.

You feel like a kid again! If it's warranted, do it right and don't look back!

Don't forget (possible) elevated blood pressure
And questionable possible link to prostate cancer. Not sure but they keep your blood work monitored with psa tests. And with constant blood work monitoring while on it the docs can keep ahead of the game if something starts to get a little off. And as JV says the benefits far outweigh the possible risks.Last edited by Shol'va; 10-24-2011 at 08:22 PM.

From my view, there are many negatives to TRT (many listed above). The only way they are outweighed, however, is if your quality of life suffers so dramatically without it. Almost all medical decisions must be weighed with both the pros and cons.

So, are you thinking about starting TRT, or are you here for another reason?
I wasn't one of the guys that went to a doctor because of being tired, or depressed. I went because I had long-term, painful muscle cramps in my back and shoulders, headaches and no interest in sex. I didn't think TRT would help, but I gave it a try. Despite my cynicism, I felt much better in about five weeks. My belief is that the TRT helped my back injury, which seemed to be the cause of my pain. It also allowed me to get back to the gym for the first time in six years, leading to better health in general. Oh yeah, and my wife started feeling good about herself again because I wanted to have sex.

I wouldn't want to go back.
I'm almost three months in now and starting to really get dialed in. I feel way better than before TRT and am much more active.
I can see and feel the change. Lethargy and Libido where what drove me to the Dr. Both have been greatly improved.
There are always downsides. I wouldn't want to be 25 having to do this for the rest of my life.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I'm only 23 at the moment but was interested to see what you guys have experienced from being on it. I'm running my 4th cycle in jan 2012 and after all my cycles iv had bw done and levels have always returned to normal, was just gathering info to know what I'm in for if when I'm older it comes to this.

Hopefully you won't need it anytime soon. I am happy I found it, but I would avoid it if I didn't really need it.
