Going in blind
Well i called the clinic today and spoke to my medical doctor, he still as not yet received my testosterone test, and i am worried he might have put me on TRT too fast.
I have a sheet here that stats all the symptoms of low T and to best honest mine are not very clear:
Brain symptoms:
Lack of energy, depressed but not to the point of going on a burnout or taking pills. Sleep a lot.
I had no libido loss, my sex life is on spot with my girlfriend and no erectile problems either.
body symptoms:
Loss of muscular strength: i can't tell for sure i am far from lifting 220 pounds that i used to lift but i have been on the bench for a while too, i was able to at least get myself close to 180 pounds its harder then before, not sure if related to low T level or age.
I did have some night sweats but not always and anemia. But my beard and chest hair grow each day and i need to shave on a daily basis.
No chest pains, soft chest.
Genital organs symptoms: no erectile problems, my testicles did not shrink either, i was always able to finish what i started so to speak and i still feel horny as hell everyday.
Bone symptoms: no loss in bone mass, no fracture and no mineral density loss either?
I had an HIV test done back in 2003 because i used to wrestle in the independent circuit here in Montreal and really went crazy with sleeping with women, this was quite stupid but sometimes i had unprotected sex with them too. The HIV test came back negative but i don't have any symptoms related to that either. Just tough i would list it because sometimes anemia can be related to that too.
And i do have some sinus infections, drainage and stuff like that sure related to allergies, that can also cause lack of energy and other symptoms.
So until i get my T level test results i feel i am going into this blind, i know that there is nothing to go wild about i am using androgel gel at 10g per day but still?

Bloodwork is the only answer, anything else is an assumption......assumption is the mother of all mistakes.......wait for the bloodwork, then act accordingly.

What JD said; post all labs (in this thread) complete with ranges and you will get excellent feedback.

Thanks guy i thrust my medical doctor because so far he as been right on the money, he got the lab results scanned on is pc, i don't get them because i went to the hospital to get blood work. I don't mind getting on TRT and getting my test level to when i was 18 that is all good. But i am wondering if i really need it or not, he told me that testosterone results is the longest and it takes about 1 month to get the results from the hospital all other test came in. Everything was in check a part for anemia that was 139, normal is 157 for a man.

I assume your already on trt, because your worried they put you on too fast? The physical symptoms your having problems with... were you having them before trt and still not going away, or did they start after the trt. You cant judge your own bone density, its density not mass ( i think)they are concerned about... you can find a clinic that will charge you about $2500 to do a scan.
I wouldn't be worried, especially on androgel

1 month??? I usually get my results from Labcorp and even Kaiser within a few days. I don't quite get this, and I don't quite get why the doctor prescribed without having labs first. Plus, 10G on AndroGel is the max. amount that usually gets prescribed (if memory serves correct). Hmmm

1 months because i did not go to a private clinic we are one here called biron, the results are given 24 hours later, but when you go to the hospital you have to wait, its 2 weeks for the regular blood test, and about one month for testosterone test. Please don't ask me why i am not a doctor, i have been told it takes that time to get the results.
I have not been on TRT long enought to get some results that is for sure, and from what i have read from androgel it takes forever to get something out of it. I am more worried about anemia that came back after i quite the iron pills then going on TRT, if my test results are that low and it fixed my anemia for good then great, but if that is not the cause then ......
Is reason to put me on TRT right away and that for 4 months is because of my symptoms that i described, he said more often then none after the iron pills, i don't have cancer and no blood loss from anywhere in my body (father died in 2006 for colon cancer) i had my first colonoscopy at 34 years old, and another test where they inject you a stuff that makes your bone glow where they can see inflammation in the body. There was no cancer.
I am going back for another PRP in the hip on November 2 and i will be able to talk to him about injections and the T test. If they have not gotten it i will go private and pay for it, its 80$ but insurance will cover 80% so i will end up paying 17$ well worth it to know where i am going.
Also prolotherapy and PRP work a lot better when the body is primed, and testosterone does that to the body, creating new collagen and more, this is the goal when you want to strenghten ligaments and tendons. This is another reason i have been put on androgel.
I really don't like being on androgel, i have read a lot of feedback on it, and 90% of people hated the stuff, said either it took forever to get a mild testosterone response, or it did nothing at all. This stuff is not cheap either i pay 148$ good thing insurance covers a part, i end up paying 33$ but since i use 2 a day its 66$ per month, injections are way cheaper then this and you get a lot more bang.Last edited by yannick35; 10-25-2011 at 08:10 PM.

I use androgel and love it and I have done the shots, I feel a LOT better on the gel. Also go off how you feel not someone who posts random stuff on the web about the gel sucks but has never used it.
To me it sounds like you have already told yourself this is not going to work and unless you are honest with yourself then it will not. Take notes on how you feel and what you change, that's what I did and how I adjust what I am doing.
I was at 1200 test and felt like shit at 800 I feel great so more is not better, once I added in HCG now I feel the best but do 1 thing at a time and give it time to work then do bloodwork, adjust, see how you feel and go from that point.
Also this WILL take a few months to get nailed down it's not going to be 5 days and done just a FYI.

Thanks for the reply Ryanmcd, i am very new to TRT and i know that it will take a lot of tweaking to get it right, and yes i also know that this cannot be done in 5-7 days. I have read the stickies on here and they say it takes about 3 weeks to feel better.
I am glad that i got some feedback about the gel, i need to speak to my doctor about HCG because he did not mention it at all and i am still waiting for my bloodwork too.
I will keep you guys posted, i know it takes longer on the gel then with injections, and the comment i have read on the androgel was by people who used it, there test level got up slightly i remember one post the guy was at 264 and after 6 months on androgel he was 280 or something.
