tested Hemoglobin 18.8 today when giving blood
I give blood on a regular basis...usually hovers around 18. I give double red normally. But with the hemoglobin at 18.8 today I was told I could not give double red but they would take a regular unit .
Any cause for concern with hemoglobin at 18.8?

yes its not healthy to have hemo or RBC that high, technically you are at risk for heart attack or stroke, but since you gave blood you should be fine for now. how often do you donate? and are you on TRT? if so what is your protocol?
PS. take baby aspirin every night and stop 2 days before donation!

I am on andro gel, I keep tst level ~800. I have been for about 4 years now. That stuff really changed my life. First test of tst was 195. I am a 40 YO WM 6'2" 235, dont smoke, drink very infrequently. I am on a great fitness program and have pulled off about 30 pounds this year. I wonder if B12 shots could cause this...I take a B12 shot 2mg twice a month.

Bass, what's the logic of coming off the aspirin two days ahead. How does it help?
