    25gauge1" vs 23g1.5"

So today I did a shot with a 25g1" in the glute today and it ,well I wouldn't say hurt but It hurt more than the longer thicker needle? What gives?

did you go into the muscle? it depends on how much fat you have, if its too thick then you may have shot in the fat. i do SQ injection and if i go fast it will hurt just like it would with IM. my point is if the needle did not reach your muscle then you simply shot it in th fat which is a different location (virgin area)!

BTW, i used to shoot B12 with 27x1" and that hurt allot more than test shot with 23x1.5"!

To add to bass' comment, if you have a fat arse you could have hit the layer between the fat and muscle. There is a facia layer covering the muscle. The last thing you want to do is inject into that region. Either stay in the fat (subq) or get well into the muscle. Do not inject just under the fascia . . . painful.

I use a 25g 5/8" and hit my rear delt and alternate sides don't feel a thing. I do warm up the test before injecting. I put it in in a small glass of hot water for a few minutes. Draws easier and no pain.
