My TRT is journey has started. HCG help

    Hello all,

First post, tons of info on these boards, kind of overwhelming....

I started with some of the bigger Men's Health Clinics and Anti-Aging Clinics, but was kind of in sticker shock. The programs I found were pricey, like $300-$400 a month.

So I ended up casually asking my primary care physician about it, he said no problem, he drew blood and we are waiting on the results. He told me that he will only write a script for what is needed. It is a start right?

Anyway, we got in a discussion about HCG . He told me since it is not FDA approved, he cannot right a script for it. I googled it and called a bunch of compounding pharmacies. They want a script. I am confused, if a doctor cannot write a script, how can they ask for one?

i look forward to posting on the forums, take care.

welcome here NC! hCG is is prescribed by doctors all day long, i have no clue what your doc is talking about. i could be wrong but thought hCG was FDA approved! good move talking to your doctor, but most importantly more so than hCG is AI. this doc may prescribe test for you but if he doesn't put you on AI its worthless, unless of course you get your AI from UG labs. at least your insurance will pay for the test. what are your stats, age. weight, BF%, activities, goals, etc...?

OP - Welcome to the neighborhood

Please post your TRT protocol here.

bass is correct: An anti aromatase inhibitor is more important then hCG IF you had to prioritize them.

You need hCG and you need to monitor E2 and add an AI if required.

Tell you Doc to call the compounding pharmacies or talk to a Doc who does prescribe it.

I am 45. I lift three times a week. I am big into MMA / Jiu Jitsu training 2 to 3 hours a day. Body fat, no clue, I am around 210 and 6'1". My goals are more energy and better libido, I just want to do everything possible to maintain. Sorry nothing exciting.

Crap AI, no clue what that is, gonna google it...... I just thought Test and HCG would be the answer. Also, do I need to google or search the forums, because a lot of people use acronyms such as E2, AI, etc.

TRT Protocol is what the doctor puts me on??? Like treatment plan???

    AI means aromatase inhibitors.

Standard TRT protocol for men is,
100-200 mgs test ew, or split dose twice a week.
AI (anastrozole), 1 mgs per 100 mgs test.
HCG , 250 IU eod or 500 IU twice a week, but this is tailored to the individual.

Ask your doctor about AI and hCG , AI is to prevent test from converting to E2.
hCG is to keep your balls from shrinking.
