    adding OVIDREL (HCG replace ment) to TRT

    Just received my Ovidrel 250ug.
    It comes with only 1ml of solvent!

    I'm assuming 250ug Ovidrel is equivalent to 10,000iu of HCG .

    What bothers me is that I'm going to have a 1ml vial of 10,000iu!
    This means I'm going to have to measure the 200iu on the 2unit mark.
    The smallest insulin syringe I could find are 0.3ml, but that still is a very fine measurement at 2 units!

    Maby I made a mistake. Can someone double check for me?

    10,000iu = 1ml
    1,000iu = 0.1ml
    100iu = 0.01ml
    200iu = 0.02ml
    300iu = 0.03ml
    3,000iu = 0.3ml

    on a 0.3ml insulin syringe the 30unit mark is 3,000iu
    on a 0.3ml insulin syringe the 10unit mark is 1,000iu
    on a 0.3ml insulin syringe the 5unit mark is 500iu
    on a 0.3ml insulin syringe the 2unit mark is 200iu
    on a 0.3ml insulin syringe the 1unit mark is 100iu

    Any suggestions?

    /J

    Not familiar with Ovidrel and don't know if your vial is a 10,000iu equivilant or not. But, you could just procure some bacteriostatic water and reconstitute with 2mls., or even 5 mls. depending on vial size. You can also get sterile empty vials of fairly large size and reconstitute to whatever strength you find easy to work with on your dosage and slin pins. I'd say you need to figure out what strength the Ovidrel is, then go from there.

    OK...went out and checked. It appears that the Ovidrel vials are indeed 10,000 unit vials. Depending on the size of this vial, you may be able to get 2mls of bacteriostatic water into it to make dosing easier. Some vials may be able to take 5mls. (none of mine so far can). You'll just need to do the math depending on how much water you can get into the vial versus the dose you want to be on per injection.

    So, if you can get 2mls water into the vial, you then have 5000iu per ml. of solution. If your preferred dose is 200iu., then you will be injecting .04ml, which is a pretty small measurement on the slin pins I use. You'd be better off if you can dilute this further, perhaps using a sterile empty vial as the container.

    My HCG vials are all 5000iu's., which diluted with 2mls. water makes life a bit easier for me. My 250iu. dose is then .10ml per injection. That dose can be seen and measured on my slin pins.

    Jimmy, get 10 ml sterile vials and Bac water and reconstitute there.

    My Ovidrel vial is 5ml, so putting extra Bac water should do the trick. I'll see if I can get some. Thanks.
