TRT cost?
I've been searching online and I see a wide range of different costs for TRT at a clinic. Can anyone give me their own personal experience of how much the actual therapy costs going to a wellness type clinic?

Can't answer on clinic cost but others will chime in soon. Remember, they are a business and survive on profits. Won't your PCP prescribe for you so you can put it on your insurance? What's up?
And welcome to the forum.....

I don't have insurance, all I have is the VA and they blow. Thanks for the welcome!

My understanding was that price talk for TRT was OK since this is all legal. I can change my post (or a mod can) if my recollection is incorrect. I am putting this info because I hope to help someone not get screwed by an out-of-state mail-order clinic.
I go to a local doctor that does managed weight loss, HCG diet and TRT. They give me a scrip for my Test rather than selling it to me directly. 10ml runs me around $90 and lasts 10 weeks. It will last you 20 weeks if you are only on 100mg/week. HCG runs around $200 for around the same time frame. HCG degrades, but I have never had atrophy using HCG that long. I have never needed an AI, so I have no cost for that. Those two things are all I take, so just add in the cost of a doctor's visit and maybe $180 for blood work to get started.
My doctor doesn't accept insurance for blood work, and my scrip isn't covered my insurance unless I constantly go in to pick up 2ml vials as my insurance company will only cover a couple of weeks at a time. I assume to make sure it isn't being abused. I have no problem with their policy, but don't want to go to the pharmacy every two weeks, so I just pay cash.

I wen't to a men's health clinic since I was having some signs and symptoms of low t, and my test was at 363 which is about 100 less than it was a couple of months ago. They said they are willing to start me on TRT to bring me up to what a normal guy my age would be at. I have a follow up appointment this week but I was just curious to see how much something like this would cost at a clinic like this.

No Clinic.
Dr. prescribed Test Cyp......$70 from local family owned pharmacy. (I take 100mg/week)
Not on HCG but I do take 25mg of Clomid 3x week.
I'm on .75mg Arimdex/week.
Total is under $25 a month.

Not sure about THAT clinic, but you now have some number to compare to. Let us know what happens.

They are all different. Probably close to the same on the test cyp and AI, HCG . But make sure they don't rape you on consultation fees, bloodwork, etc. I know of an HRT clinic that was 240$ a month for cyp, AI, and HCG. That is one of the more costly ones.
I'm sure more guys will chime in that aren't on insurance.

Clinic costs me double of what you guys are stating and I love my clinic. No complains here! I already went to
The doctor paid by the clinic three times in 2 months of treatment, got AI included in treatment and everything sent to my house! Soooo easy!!!!

Yeah. I tried an AI once without telling my doc and it messed me up. Made my whole body hurt, especially my joints. I stopped and the pain went away. A little while later we did blood work and she said, "wow, your E2 stays really low, we will probably never need to put you on an AI." I just said "great" and didn't tell her what an idiot I was.

How is blood work so cheap, my first blood work was over 700 dollars. then after i went to an endo it wasn't near as bad after provider discount, i dunno why the first was so much money, was supposed to be fully covered by my insurance but i got the bill for it, so i am trying to fight it and get it covered like it is supposed to be, but i had no idea it would be that expensive.

I've been purchasing my Tadalafil (Cialis) from over seas online for two years and get totally legit product for 1/8 of what it would cost me here in the states. My insurance doesn't cover daily use so I found a totally respectable online pharmacy and I couldn't be more happier.
Yea, there are some rip offs out there but if you do you search correctly you will not be disappointed.

Ok I’m so glad that this thread is started. BUT i feel like the main question has not been addressed. test and all that I feel is fairly cheap.
So what is the consult fees you guys are all getting? My Doc at the TRT/ hormone clinic (it’s in a plastic surgery place/spa place) wants to charge me $1,200 up front for the 1st year then $500 a year after that.
Is that in line or way out of line?

through my clinic i pay about $57.50 a week, this is for 120 mgs test ew, 300 iu 3 times a week and 1 mg AI ew. blood work is about $150 every six months but i request to do it once every 2 moths.

so im assuming that's a yes? im paying way to much if I go with him? How should I shop around? I do feel like I need the help and I have been very careful about not just jumping in if I don't need it. but I think that I do. Just taking my time getting diet and exercise right to see if I feel better first.
but I feel like I might be getting taken by the doc?

clinic will try to rob you so learn as much as you can by reading all you can and all the stickies so you can go in with knowledge. it will cost close to $1000 for the initial setup/consultation, this included meds too, but after that its maintenance averages at no more than $60 per month plus blood work once every 4-6 months. they will try to sell you injectable vitamin B12, anavar , deca and all that shit that you don't need for TRT, just stick with a healthy TRT protocol which is,
testosterone no more than 120 mgs per week to start with then adjust based on followup blood work.
AI about 1 mg per week
hCG about 1000 iu per week.
let us know what they tell youLast edited by bass; 12-06-2011 at 01:44 AM.

Do you buy your test from a nationally known pharmacy? Have you 'price shopped' many of them?
Like you, I don't want to venture too far into price talk, but since we all have scripts and its legit, I assume some leeway is OK.
I've been doing the 2 x 1 ml bi-monthly insurance thing and getting tired of it.

My treatment is managed by an Endo that specializes in TRT & Concierge Medical Services for men. Fee is $2500/year for 24/7 access. All Blood Work & Meds are covered under Oxford with a copay except for HCG . Pricey, but worth it IMO. What I like is he's available via Cell Phone 24/7 for any health matters I need addressed. He works with quite a few Power Lifters, Body Builders & Athletes so I find that he understands the culture. He bench presses over 500 lbs himself lol...

The quote I got today was: $75 physician fee, $100 for labs. From what I gather the test will be around $90 for 10 weeks. Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow.

so this place has package deals, and charges 899 for 3 months, 1199 for 6 months and i think it was 1800 for a year. all i'd get is some test cyp, blood work, and doctor visits. is this a bad gig? i asked about hcg and they don't use it, i asked about AI's and they said you can just order that online? sounds kinda shady but they're the only clinic in the area. next closest is 4 hours away from me. anyways i'd pay half up front and then monthly payments.

yeah, well i'm going to try the VA. i dunno if they'll do it though since i'm low normal range and seeing as some of your guys insurance doesn't cover low normal i doubt the VA will.
