Red face From a crippled life to a normal life in 5 weeks (who would have tought)

What can i say, today was a defining day for me, when i went down into my basement and did my chest, bicep workout.

I was actually able to push some weight, and actually did 40 pounds db curls for 6 controlled reps. Tears in my eyes, yeah this reply is far from being macho but i don't care.

No more then 6 weeks ago i was on the verge of depression, asking myself how much time i was going to be benched and if i would ever lift a weight again in my life. I got well over 6000$ equipement in my basement 2000$ for my leg press hack squat alone.

I was wondering if i needed to sell all my equipement and that really gave me a punch in the stomach.

The pain in my upper back was awful, my hand grip was gone, my hands hurt, my wriste hurt, my knee hurt, my feet hurt.

I was falling apart, i was all screwed up in my head because i remembred guys at the gym and one of my friend being 46 years old and pushing 350 pounds on the bench press, being strong has a horse. I am 39 years old and felt like my life was over.

I even went to a trigger point specialist that told me weight lifting caused me to build scar tissue and that he had to break it down, is treatments where good, but the pain always came back even if i did nothing.

He even got me to buy some resitance bands and gave me a program to do with them. Even then the pain came back and i had to go back for more treatments.

I told my medical doctor that i was very depressed about my situation, that my chronic pain was driving me crazy, we had gone true some prolotherapy treatments and PRP treatments with some benefits, for the neck pain trap pain we had tried botox injection that did close to nothing god bless my insurance that covered every penny of this treatment.

He took the decision to put me on testosterone androgel gel. After 2 weeks on the androgel my pain was a lot worst for 2 days, i had hacks and pain everywhere in my body, i went back to is office and asked to be put on injections.

It as now been 5 weeks, and i cannot beleive how my life has turned around, my upper traps pain is gone, i still have ligament laxity but that will be fixed very soon. My pains in the hand, knees, feet are gone, and my hand grip is strong again. This is just insane.

I now have hope that at some point i will start weight lifting for good once more and even might be able to work myself to lift the same weight i did before i injured myself. Of course squatting and deadlifting are things of the past that will remain in the past, because i got injured real bad with them, but if i can work myself to a 220 pounds bench press and 135 pounds military press that will be just amazing.

How old are you? And I take it you play a sport of some sort? Glad TRT has been beneficial to you!

    That is great news!

I know we have discussed having similar stories. I started light and strict and it didn't take long to find what exercises I needed to be careful with.

Hopefully in another four weeks you will be feeling even better. Glad you didn't sell that equipment.

Thanks guy i am 39 years old, god johnnyvegas i don't even want to imagine how amazing i am gonna feel in 6 months.

I do not play any sports yet, if i can train 4 times per week and eventually had a martial art class twice a week that will make my life prefect. I just hate cardio machines.

I have been on for almost a year. Life is completely different, but I am still very careful. I don't bend over to pick things up, and I avoid twisting. My wife and I thought about snowboarding this winter, but I don't want to take the chance.

I doubt you hate cardio more than me. But I still do it. Trying to get my abs back. Ugh, I actually need to go to the gym right now. 60 minutes of cardio. Crap.

Has for training i am using the program on this board, http://www.steroid.com/anabolic_workouts.php

I don't do the squats and calves, they are big already LOL.

I am training 4 times a week taking 1 day off between every workout and doing no more then 7-8 sets per big muscles and 4-5 sets for smaller ones. I also take 3-4 minutes rest between sets.

When i usually tried to start training after injury i did insane programs training 6 times per week and sometimes shooting for 20 sets per bodypart. Talk about doing it the wrong way.

I use a weight that i can handle for 6 reps but i would usually fail at 8 so i am not killing myself lifting.

TRT the pump is just sick, i will add a pre workout drink just order muscle pharma assault, i really can't wait to try this, all in one and add some glutamine at the end of my workout.

I might also stay on that training program if everything goes well and just re-arrange the exericises after 12 weeks. After all a muscle grows when you are out of the gym, no sense in killing myself every workout with endless sets.

I am amazed that my muscles are very sore after doing so little.

You are right johnnyvegas we are very much alike girlfriend loves skiing, i told her that after being injured for 10 years and just barely getting my life back i am not going to go all out and risk it again.

I did a lot of reseach on testosterone and beleive in its power to rebuild the body, it is very sad that testosterone is viewed by the mainstream has being evil due to most pro athletes and bodybuilder abusing it, and some deaths in pro wrestling related to steroid overdosing like Eddie Gerrero and Davey Boy Smith.

In my views it makes no sense that older man are not put on TRT by most medical doctor, and left to suffer, and worst to beleive that all there pains is part of growing old.

Most people i talk to beleive that after a certain age its impossible to lose weight, and build muscles, they also have that awful mentality about some sports like martial arts, and will tell me that i am too old to get back into martial arts.

If testosterone as the ability to rebuild a lost muscle mass, burn fat in the process and repair bones, ligaments and tendons and speed up recovery, make people feel good about themselves its a no brainer right there.

congratulations Yannick! i had those same pains you're talking about, not any more thanks to TRT! so i know exactly how you feel. i started lifting 3 years ago, you can go on my profile and see how i looked and how i look now, and did it with light weights! yes light because i have injuries too. so be patient, lift light and don't injure yourself, muscles will come in time. no rush, you have your whole life ahead of you. BTW, i started at 49 and i am 51 now! can you imagine what you can do at 39?!

Thanks a lot bass to be honest what i can do with a 39 year old body well looking back this summer i would have said nothing. But now i can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

With the addition of testosterone i guess that any kind of training will be good, even if its light weights. I am not killing myself either, i am lifting a bit heavier taking it one step at a time, but not going to failure either. I have eliminated squatting and deadlifting i just don't need thoses and the terrible compression they put my spine true. I was very lucky when i got injured that i did not get a disc hernia, my spinal disc do have some degeneration but nothing major just normal aging stuff.

I used to go to this other private medical doctor the fraud charged 5$ per minute imagine, he gave me prolotherapy, i asked him for blood test, they came back with anemia that was 2 years ago, he never told me, he said it was normal. At that time i had ask him about testosterone, he never gave me the testosterone test, he told me that he had access to androgel gel and deca durabolin , but at my age i did not need it. Talk about an idiot fraud. I should have been put on testosterone at 37 years ago.

Bless god that my current medical doctor is that competent and put me on TRT without any hesitation.

Yes i looked at your pics, we pretty much have the same equipements, i also train in my basement and feel its the best, and you can train when you want too with the music you want to hear LOL.

Pretty amazing progress too i can't wait to see where i am at in a few years myself.
