Is TRT or HRT right for me? Blood-work Analysis

Hey guys. First time poster..long time reader.

I need some advice on whether or not HRT is right for me. A few months back I requested a blood test from my doctor for all my hormones and everything else major. I've been procrastinating on getting it done but lately I've been feeling that my test is pretty low. Low sex drive..the morning wood doesn't come on as strong...lack of motivation and drive.

From other posts I've noticed that sometimes the doctors don't request the proper blood work so before I go get it tested I wanted to see if there's anything the doctor missed on my Laboratory Requisition.

    Here it is.

Anything that I should add so I can be as thorough as possible?

    I would add
    Albumin
    Fsh
    lh
    Estradiol
    Bioavailable testeorone

And depending on ur age you might want a psa level before u start any repla***ent therapy.

    Also...
    Cortisol
Estradiol (Make sure it's a sensitive assay!)
    Progesterone
    IGF-1
    SHBG
    DHEA-S

Ok I figured those where the important ones my GP missed...except for albumin..whats will that tell me?

I'm 26 so should I be testing psa?

I'll be posting the results when they come in sometime next week.

Like SHBG it binds (losely) to Testosterone receptors.

Seeing your age now I would want all Thyroid panels as well:

    TSH
    Free T4
    Free T3
    Reverse T3
    Antibody...

Need to rule out Hypothyroidism as well.

    Agreed.

    You appear to be hypothyroid.

Many of the same symptoms that Low Test have are similar to Low Thyroid function.

TSH levels above 3 usually put up red flags something is possibly wrong.

From my initial reading you guys may be right. It may be inherited as I hit puberty at an early age and started loosing my hair when I was 14...that may be an early sign..
I'll do my research so I'm not wasting your guys time and figure out how to fix this.

One more thing..any additional blood tests do you recommend I take to get more complete picture of whats happening with my thyroid ?

This is pretty much what you'd want to see on a complete Thyroid function panel:

TSH, T4, T3, RT3, Thyroid Antibodies, Calcitonin, Thyroglobulin
