Do you have high hematocrit levels? Did your doctor tell you to donate blood? Most donation places require you to wait at least 8 weeks between donating.

even if your RBC, Hemgloben and Hematocrit are in range its good to give blood. at your dose levels i bet yours are probably high, so give every two months and never worry about high levels! yes every 8 weeks is standard frequency.

I wouldn't worry about the double reds, just go with the basic donation and your CBC panels will look great

I let the blood suckers draw off a pint every three months, although now that I think about it, I’m a couple of months past due…

I pick regular or double depending on my levels. I did dble last time and it seems to have really helped. Bad part is the 16 week wait to donate again.

Double-reds with the Red Cross is no more often than every 16 weeks....twice what a normal whole blood donation period is.

Depends on a lot of things of course. If I have an appointment...maybe 40 minutes not counting drive time. One time, I had an appointment and they were backed up for several hours. Guess they took a bunch of walk-ins before me or something. I waited 15 minutes and then walked out on them.
Edit to add that once I am "hooked-up", I drain a pint in about 7 or 8 minutes. It is the health assessment and questionaire that take the most time.

If you go with red cross it's every 56 days for single and 112 days for double reds. After you donate and are unhooked they like you to stay around for 20 minutes. They always have juice water crackers cookies and such. The last couple of times they had olive garden catering so you can eat too. At that time they will sign you up for the next draw in 56 days.

After a long run with Test/Deca I did the double red. What a difference, the lethargic feeling is gone! Have to wait 112 days like others have stated but well worth it IMO.

The Red Cross bloodmobile goes out on the weekends to take blood at numerous locations...so unless the Red Cross is at my workplace...I never take time from work to donate. My church gets visits periodically too. Our local library gets a visit every now and again. I don't think you will need to miss work to donate, unless you want to do that. Oh...maybe you are in a very rural area. That could be a problem I suppose.

I always just pop into a donation center - and it has never taken more than an hour start to finish double or not.
Never had it catered though, might have added a few min's eating if so...
