cyp and drug tested power meets

Wondering if anyone has info on drug testing powerlifting federations? My problem is, I have a non functioning pituitary so I have to take 100mgs. of cypinate per week. I'd like to compete in some tested meets, but don't know if I will pass the drug test. Any suggestions??

You won't pass, unless they make exceptions for valid hrt, but as far as I know none of them do. Compete in non tested federations.

Agree with above. You will just have to check to see if any exceptions will be made before signing up for an event.

I am glad someone asked this question. I always wondered if we would fail drug tests. I wasn't sure if they tested for levels, or ratios between certain levels, or if they could test for the presence of synthetic testosterone . Anyone care to give a SHORT explanation? If it is more than two sentences, just tell me, "google it you lazy bastard."

You will fail the T/E ratio (testosterone /epitestosterone) test quite easily. Then if you protest, and your test level is not off the chart, they can order a very expensive test to distinguish natural from exogenous (synthetic).

I sort of do this for a living, so have some experience

I know my T level won't be off the chart, but it sounds like a big hassel for only a hobby. Thanks for the info though.

Interesting. I knew about the T/E part but not the following. Can you say what exactly you do?

    I run a drug testing/doping lab.

Testing for AAS has always been a challenge since the main "culprit" these days is testosterone , which is of course, is normally present.

I don't have much of a moral issue with it's use either legal or not except by very young athletes (<18) and of course where it's banned by consent.

When testing for blood doping, bicycling for instance, is it a similar test to the op's sport... power lifter.

How long would it take for someone undergoing HRT (TEST E 200 mg/week) to clear their system in order to pass a drug test? Thanks ecdysone

Forest, I'll only comment on this for TRT guys. The short answer is: however long it takes to re-establish your endogenous (natural) test production back to pre-TRT levels.

I would guess something like 2-3 months.

Also be aware that depending on the sports authority you are involved with, hormones (such as HCG ) and AI's/SERM's, etc are usually tested for in addition.

^^^^ Forest, what I'm saying is that I would only answer this question for guys on TRT, like yourself!

    Did you read my answer?

You can't "clear" your system per se, but you simply need to return things back to pre-TRT.

And, J: I think this is in keeping with the theme of the thread. For guys who are concerned with their TRT interferring with a chance to compete, they too could opt to stop TRT for a period and then resume later.

Haha, Oops, my bad for mis-understanding you. I appreciate your answer. I really need to find a Test E surrogate (prop?) for personal reasons related to drug testing. Thanks.

    ^^^ No problemo!

On another thread, I've mentioned that at least one well known TRT doc actually prefers that his patients take an annual break from TRT... some guys have suggested doing this at least twice a year.

Interesting ecdysone...My wife is actually more concerned than myself regarding a temp.TRT break. Any thoughts on switching to Test Prop or Sus for a month or so before DRUG testing such that I keep the little lady happy and appear clean.
