My wife has had enough

Of seeing me feel alot better, loseing weight and putting on some muscle.

She will be 42 in a couple of weeks and has decided to go to the doc and get full physical and blood work. My wife has been doing PX90 and weight watchers for months and nothing is happening.She is going to start with our family doc and he is not up on hormones, but the labs will be covered by insurance. It took him a long time to oder the right labs for me. So in the interest of not wasting time what labs should she request? I looked through the stickeys but I could not find a list of tests that are required. Do the lab have a full female panel and if so should you and more test to it?

I am far from an expert on female hormone repla***ent but I would think she wants basically the same stuff a male wants.

Full hormone panel, vitamin d 25-Hydroxy, full thyroid (not just TSH). This is the minimum.

Might as well get a b12 level as well...

With the full hormone panel do you have to request a sensitive testosterone test for females or is the regular test OK

Focus on finding a good female HRT doc and letting the doc answer all these questions. Unfortunately, finding a good doc is difficult . . . at least it is for male HRT. You definately need to explore a female centric forum, this one is not. So the assistance you will receive here is limited. Having said that, the main hormones for women are estrogen, progesterone, test (minor amount), DHEA. Then you get into the hormones that males and females share, like the thyroid hormones.

She going to find a new doctor to treat her if there are any issues. My wife has to see the primary first and I know he is going to order blood work, so I just want her to get the right tests the first time.
