    Gel safety question

Is the Trt gel safe to use around kids? I don't want my girls to turn into amazon women. No offense to amazon women. Thanks

The Amazon Women Say No Offense Taken...

I have heard stories of the possibilities of it transferring off to your children and wife, but I don't know personally of anyone it has yet happened to. But it makes a great argument to your Doctor for having you to switch to injections if that is the way you wish to go. Personally I'd prefer a once weekly shot over having to smear that crap on every day, but to each their own. Also if you are leery of shots that often, there is a long term shot going to be available sometime in the near future for you called nebido. Look it up on this forum. It is still in the trial stages with the govt here in the states, but other countries are using it now.

i believe the instructions clearly state not to allow women and/or children to come into contact with the gel

Yes it works as a good excuse to not use gel and to get on injection instead. I would not want it transferred to my wife or kid.

put it somewhere where transference is not an issue ? (upper arms ,calves etc) , or ask to switch to shots.

There are people in Europe on Nebido. There is a veteran here who swears by it.

Rub the gel on your inner thigh in the mornings and there should be no problem.

I feel the same way as others regarding gel and kids. I mean you can apply in morning and shower after work etc, or whatever but i would much rather play it safe and not have the hassles. I used it as an excuse to get injections too, doc even talked about a type you apply like deodorant but eventually he gave in to what i wanted.

I was a gel person for a few months; I had the same transference fears. I have young ones that think I am a jungle gym and I have no interest in F'n up my son’s hormones. I believe the deodorant type is Axiron, I tried that one as well, was too watery for me.

This is a growing market; there is big money in the TRT field for the pharm companies. I would bet in the next few years we will see a delivery method that is low risk (to others) and injection free OR an injection SQ that was similar to insulin pens.

Be nice if they could compound a cream w/ a SPF 50 sunscreen; rub it on my bald head as I leave for work each morning

I am on Testo-Gel and to be honest not worried about others coming near me! My daughter is scared of the stuff so that is my only concern taken care of!

As for Nebido, that is what they give here in the UK if you go private.

Transference is a legitimate concern, but that's why you wear a shirt to cover the application site and simply avoid contact for 30 minutes or more. By 2 hours the chance of transference is most likely negligible.
