Anyone familiar with patches for HRT?

Doctor recently prescribed me to patches at 1 patch/24hours @ 4mg per patch ... Was wondering if this sounds right , to me it seems very low ..does it sound right? And besides a preference of taking injections instead of patch therapy is one better than the other? ; I've read they both get the job done but was unable to find anybody that was taken the patches ... Thnx

Patches seem to be far less prescribed than gel/cream or IM injections.

I've never used them and I know a number of guys who started on them only to switch to gel/cream or IM for a lot of reasons.

Uptake will probably on the same order as gel/cream = hit or miss.

Did your Doc give you options or was it just his way?

I knew someone that used them and didn't like them.He told me they really affected his skin and left red marks even moving them around. He said it was like getting a mild burn.

He has changed to andro gel and has no problem with his skin now.I really thought he would but It has been a few months and no problems yet.

If you have a choice go with the shots.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear ..I'm looking for maybe someone with experience with the patches .....weight loss or gain on it? Water retention? Have to control gyno? Strength increase? Will I be able to go about my normal school schedule , work, gym without it bothering me? ....also maybe someone like "I was prescribed same dosage and this is how it unfolded...." anything of that nature thanks for the already given input but I've read about the redness skin problems and such about it I really need someone with first or second hand experience..

Or ANY input on 1patch/24hours @ 4mg per patch .. How does a 4mg patch compare to a 100mg injection in regulating hormones? Has me lost..

That is on the high end, most start out at 100mg probably. I have a more liberal doctor though. You defiantely need to talk to your doctor about an arimitose inhibitor. That will keep your estrogen levels normal. Estrogen follows Testosterone . So when your testosterone goes up so does estrogen...bringing sides with it like, water retention, acne, gyno etc...

It defiantely takes some time to get all of your hormones dialed in and leveled off. You will have to do blood work probably every 6 weeks to check when you first begin until all of your hormones level off. Believe me it takes some time and frustration in order to do this. And only change one thing at a time. For example say you are on 200mg of test a week and 1mg of arimitose inhibitor a week and you do blood work and your estrogen is to high. Up your AI and then recheck. Don't lower your test dosage and up your AI at the same time. That way you can tell if what you changed worked your next blood work.

When you first get on you will feel amazing. Libido will go up, you will feel energetic, sleep great, you will feel stronger. Don't start lifting extra heavy though right off the bat because you have to gradually do it or you will damage your ligaments. After a while the "rush" will level off and you will feel normal again, but not ever feel like you are feeling right now. Just don't expect to have that "rush" feeling the rest of your life. And don't be thinking your going to be ready to **** anything that walks all the time. Now you won't have any problems, but the porn star sex will level off from what you experience in the beginning.

Also ask your doctor about HCG . Its another shot you do twice a week usually. It makes sure your body still produces its own test, and will make sure your nuts don't shrivel up like raisins. Basically when you start injecting test your body recognizes it and sees all this extra and decides not to produce its own. Hence the nut shrinkage. HCG will eliminate this.

Its definately a long and frustrating road in the beginning, but once you get everything dialed in and you are in your sweet spot then you will appreciate the work it took in the beginning. But just remember....ITS FOR LIFE!!!!

    Good luck to you
NOSUPERMODEL threw me this info from his experience .. Thanks again helped me a lot figured I'd post it to where I was asking so anyone else looking for information like this will be able to find it
