How fast does the AI work?
Quick question guys, just completed 3rd week of TRT, Per doc's instructions I was to take .5 mg of AI twice this week which I did. I took a dose Saturday and again yesterday. Everything was good up until the second dose and feel less of all the positive results I was feeling.
My question is does an AI work that fast, and since all was well perhaps I should have waited.
Thanks much

150 mg test per week (1 shot)
.50 HCG per week (1 shot)
.5mg AI twice per week.
Up until the AI this week, no complaints. After 2nd dose of AI tired and no morning wood. Does the AI work that fast? Was thinking since I felt so good maybe not ready for the AI.

my e2 was above 100 on scale 7-42 then took AI everyday for one week and it was down to 18. AI works pretty fast, it doesn't drop your e2 but it stops the test to e2 conversion.

There's a recent thread where the member went without an AI for 3 weeks, then took .5mg for 3 consecutive days and his numbers were really low. My takeaway from that experience is:
- 3 weeks isn't enough time to increase e2 levels if on TRT doses.
- AIs work really fast.
I'm pretty much anti-AI. I'd lower my dose and try resveratrol (or other supplement) before going on an AI. But if I really needed it, my dose would be based on blood work and only after 6 weeks of starting TRT or making dose adjustments. That's why even though I'm on a gel and it's said that you can get tested after 2 weeks, I still wait so I can get the Estradiol done with the same draw.
A positive of this is that your Dr. was on the right track. Maybe waiting longer or reducing the dose might have been more appropriate. You also might've been even worse off if he put you on that as a weekly maintentance dose.

Agreed with above, but I really do not think a second dose of a .5 would have any noticible impact. I am one that recently crashed my E2, was as high as taking 3 1.2 per week, really again do not think the 2nd dose had any noticable impact, more placebo than anything MHO.

LOL! i saw Bulls's post regarding postal on another thread! but i have to respectfully disagree with Bulls on this one, 0.5 can make a huge difference. Anastrozole is very powerful drug, it may work differently from one person to another, but it will make a significant difference.

AI's do work fast.
Morning wood, however, is kind of iffy... and it's really not best to make all your decisions on what's going on based on that criteria.
Informing someone on how they should personally use an AI with blood work, however, is a fools game unfortunately. So, post some labs.

^^^^Me too Doc
Also, some man can be ultra sensitive to an AI and over respond...uncommon but it does happen.
As noted, BW should have been done first before the AI dosage.

Technically seems don't lower e2 but block receptor, so not good for estrogen management. There are two ai's on the market( arimedex and letrozole ). Plus a suicide inhibitor(. Aromisin: I believe). Letrozole is extremely potent and reportedly hard to manage leaving arimedex as most peoples choice ai.

letrozole seems to have more side effects including lowered libido, obviously that's a bad choice if it effects you that way.
anastrozole has been studied a lot in men and boys and seems to be very effective and at least safe in the short term. I don't know of any long term anastrozole/arimidex safety studies.
of course, you can try natural things to lower mildly elevated estradiol. first of all, this should include losing bodyfat. but then also eliminating environmental estrogens (plastics are a huge culprit). then there are supplements proven effective at lowered e2 such as chrysin and grape seed extract. there are others as well, but those are 2 big ones.
as always, get blood work!
