Hcg???
I am getting 300mg of Test E, every 2 weeks as part of my TRT and on Bromocriptine (a dopamine agonist). I have one of those "spacey/clueless" type of Endos. Based on this amt of T that I am receiving, what's the general consensus on if I may Need HCG ? I would prefer to talk to my endo about it, but it's a beeyatch to get an appt that's not scheduled in advance. I have noticed some shrinkage too. Thanks in advance for any advice.

300mg every 2 weeks? Seems a little high and the 2 week protocol would suck. How are you feeling? Any ups and downs? Have you talked to you doctor about weekly injections? How are you blood test since starting TRT at 300 every 2 weeks?
HCG would be a good idea if you want to keep the boys working properly to have kids in the future.

agree with lovbyts. if i were you at the minimum I'd split the dose to 150 mgs weekly, or better yet go 75 mgs twice a week. get on hCG if you want to stop the shrinking.

Yeah, we recently talked about changing me to every week but it get pricey at that point so we decided to wait until my follow up. I seem to taper down middle of 2nd week. I'll try to give her a call and see if her nurse can relay the info about my HCG concerns. I really want to change endos but with the insurance and the fact that the other one in my city that took my insurance just retired, sucks. Thanks for the HCG tip and I'll try to stay on top of that. Still haven't even gotten a response about my urine test either. What they were checking for and why I had to save 24hrs worth, I have no idea?

Is HCG only benificial for shrinkage? or does it have any other values?

Well, I'm sitting in my Doc's office, family practice, waiting to get my Test injection, and I'm going to mention it to my Doc's nurse. Wish me luck! Even if he has to contact the Endo, he seems to have better luck making things happen than she does.

Good luck. My endo said if I want HCG I need to go to a fertility clinic.

Manonfire, here's a link with quite a bit of info about HCG . If you search around here for HCG, you can also read personal experiences. From what I've read, a lot of people not only have increased size, but also an increased sense of well being. For me, it's been great as far as helping to increase my well being and libido over just Test-Cyp. If you read a couple of my other threads on HCG, you'll see how enthusiastic I am about it. Also, from everything I've read, most DR's aren't up on the benefits of HCG and won't prescribe. There are other options though. I spent a few days researching the net on HCG and finally found what I was looking for (a safe, quality product available here in the US).
Good Luck

Lol I almost started explaining this then got the joke! Lol you were joking right?

HCG can improve subjective well being in some people - but not everyone! no way to know unless you try it.
It can also help maintain fertility, although this is not a guarantee.
To say anyone NEEDS hcg is a bit far fetched. afterall, I would say that none of us need trt in the first place. but it can improve quality of life so drastically it makes no sense not to do it.

Vinceproduction, that could be it....I have to contact them today because for some reason my endo says they haven't received the urine results. LOL. I had to save 24hrs worth in the fridge BASS!!!! lol.....the other way would have triple sucked!!! Honestly, it would be cheaper to self medicate TRT even with my expensive ass source, but I know the rules here, so I'm not sweating it. And Lovbyts, that's what I was worried about too, but I talked to my nurse about the shrinkage and she seems to be on the ball to help me more than anybody, she's done so much for me already. Thankfully I have shrinkage but no pain.

Why were you prescribed Bromocriptine?
How much are you taking and when do you take it?
Have you felt any changes or difference in libido and pleasure?
Do you know how a dopamine antagonist acts on your brain and what it does to your body?
What were your SHBG assay before you started?
Have you had Prolactin tested as well?

Yeah, I got prescribed. 2.5mg every morning for 2 weeks then up it to 5mg. I have a small tumor on my pituitary that is raising my prolactin (though not in the 100's according to my endo to be considered prolactinoma) and lowering my test. It has raised my libido it seems but according to my endo, I won't be able to notice results until after taking it everyday for 6 months. I know it also lowers GH levels which worries me, but it does so in order to shrink the tumor. gdevine, you are the only person who has commented on anything I've put up about bromocriptine. I was starting to feel weird taking something that I felt nobody knew about.

Thanks brother, appreciate the kind words but there are more than a few of us here who understand the mechanisms of a Dopamine Antagonist. I personally like Dostinex (Cabergoline)...but that's just me.
The dosage and the tumor management makes complete sense.
Just keep an eye out on your SHBG as a Dopamine Antagonist will lower it and we need it close to mid range or a tad lower in the reference range.
Believe it or not but most Dopamine Antagonists are miracle drugs especially for those with Parkinson and Alzheimer's disease...and lower doses provides for many health benefits for men.

Thanks for the tip on watching my SHBG. I definitely will do that. I'm not getting the regular blood tests that I should be getting so I will have to bring it up. (And get my friggin' copy of the results!) ......still waiting for the increased ejaculate side effect. (Hey, just being honest!)

Oh, and I did get the sudden sleepiness side effect while driving during the first dose (got lucky honestly), and the stuffy nose that is common to everyone it seems, but that stuffy nose side isn't labeled anywhere on the paperwork from the pharmacy! But, back on topic, I should find out tomorrow about what my endo thinks about my "HCG concerns".
