muscle improvements coming early- due to exercise?

I noticed in the "when to expect changes" faq that muscle strength comes in around 12-16 weeks.
At 6 weeks on TRT my upper legs are already getting really hard and more muscular. I have also "felt" like I just got a surge of energy that I didn't have even just 2 weeks ago. Last night I went out to do my 2 mile run and did some play racing with a girl who had a 20 year advantage over me plus her own set of very muscular legs. She is is in great shape no doubt about it. For the first mile, we are pretty close though she is still faster. After the first mile she decides to blow me away and her 20 ft advantage gets closer to 80ft. Pretty embarrassing even for a fat guy so just for the heck of it, I decide to see what my new legs could do. I could not believe it! I had no problems catching/overtaking her though at the end of the 2 miles I was really worn out. I have lost about 15 lbs so far though my spare tire seems to have already shrunk more than 15 lbs worth. Even coworkers are making comments so I know it's not just my perspective.

So I am wondering if I am just having good luck or if exercising (running in my case) is known to speed up the TRT changes listed in the faq?

Oh and thanks for the very helpful faqs in this section.....

Everyone is different so the answer to your question is possibly "yes".

It takes time for Testosterone to do it's magical thing.

Keep in mind, Testosterone is an anabolic steriod that is the cause of "anabolism"which in and of itself causes an increase in protein production and storage primarily in bone and muscle. So yes, even in 6 weeks you could be seeing early stage results.

That "surge" of energy you speak of could be caused by an increase in Dopamine depending on what your levels were before you started your TRT protocol and how long they have been low.

Nevertheless my friend, ENJOY and welcome to the community

Congrats! Every "body" can/will respond somewhat differently to repla***ent therapy. Exercise, lifestyle changes, diet, and TRT all go hand in hand with self improvement. Next time don't pass the girl 20 years younger. Latch on to her and show her what an "Old Guy" can do!

TRT is not magic, obviously you're doing something right! hard work and dedication is the key to get in shape. you probably lost more pounds of fat that you know, some of the added weight is most likely muscle as you have mentioned. so yea judge your progress by looking at the mirror not the scale. congratulations, this is the sort of stuff we like to hear! thanks for the post.

Hack, forgive me if Im out of line, maybe I'm highjacking this thread but with over 6000 post and 7 years of membership it jumps out at me when you say you "restarted" TRT? Did you quit because of health concerns, financial???, Not trying to be noisy but TRT we are told is forever, and myself included sometimes wonders what will happen if I stop??? Your experience on this topic (even in a new post) would be very much welcomed.

that is good news thanks. Maybe I will continue to see improvements since it is still early in the game. What a difference even a few months make. 2 months ago I could not sit in my office chair over 5 min without my legs getting stiff. Once I stood up, it would take about a minute of walking before they would free up..........

Just hope it keeps up! Oh and you don't know the half of it regarding girls :Right now I am going through puberty 2.0 (even found some acne today) and they are distracting the hell out of me. At my main office , 80% of our customers are all "20-something" women. It is warming up here so they are dressing lightly and leaving nothing to the imagination. I just had to leave a group of them and come hide in my office as it was that distracting. But at least it is a very strong incentive to get back in shape so I can have some fun again -eh with other women, not my customers ! My Dr. never mentioned this side effect!!!
