should i? supplement DHEA. And when to take it?
I think I read somewhere that when taking a dopamine agonist, that DHEA and GH suffer. While I can't and shouldn't try to raise my GH at the moment, I'm thinking of taking DHEA. How much should I take? I have a bottle of 25mg tabs. It seems that I have become a little bit tired since upping my dose of bromocriptine. And when is the best time to take it? Morn, Night, or several times during the day?

I've never heard of a Dopamine Agonist suppressing DHEA or GH...
Why do you want to supplement DHEA (a hormone precursor just after Pregnenolone in the androgen pathway)?
Are you on a TRT protocol?
It's best to take DHEA and Pregnenolone in the morning and mid afternoon. Some men find it can act like a stimulant and can potentially keep you from sleeping at night.
I like both Preg and DHEA to back fill the pathways if a man is on a TRT protocol...
Micronized pills are good and so are the creams for best uptake and absorption.

Well the Bromocriptine does lower prolactin and also lowers GH production. Reason being though is because of my small pituitary tumor, which is supposed to shrink more, and I guess, eventually disappear (far fetched sounding, I know, but that's how my endo makes it sound). I'm on Test E 200 1.5ml every 2 wks. I was fine before doubling the bromocriptine to 5mg like my endo wanted me to. I guess I was thinking that if GH and proloctin was lowered, then possibly DHEA and IGF-1 were lowered too. But I would think that supping IGF-1 would raise my GH level, which I don't think I should do, leaving the DHEA the only thing I could possibly supp.

Supplementing IFG1 will increase GH levels...but depending upon your IGF1 panel I wouldn't do it either.
It's just good protocol to back fill your pathways with Preg and DHEA for a lot of reasons (supports other androgen pathways as well) when on a TRT protocol...so yea, add it in man.
50mg of both in divided doses of 25mg twice a day will do it!
Check with Life Extension I believe they are now selling micronized versions of both.

I own one of those lovely tumors myself. GD was one of the first ones I met here and he clued me in to DHEA/Preg as well as Selegiline. Been on it a while now. Good advice above.

Thanks GD and Kel!!!! I'll look into that page GD. At the same time, I'm going to read up some more on preg. I hope I can get it from that site once I know more about it. And KelKel, mind if I pick your brain a little? I've never met anybody (online or in person) that has the same/similiar issue as me. Thanks.

PS: What's selegiline? This is my first time hearing about it.

It's also called Deprenyl. It's big in the life extension circles. It will help to slow down the loss of dopamine which will help keep your brain "young" so to speak. Read the below articles. Then search a thread by gdevine titled "selegiline also L-Deprenyl" for even more info. Nevermind, here it is:

There are over the counter DHEA creams are available. I am using a pump cream I found for sale via an Amazon merchant/supplier. It is called RS-Transaderm and has DHEA, pregnenelone and a few other things in it. Might be a way to go as some here say that the DHEA capsules don't survive the gastric/liver digestive process and as a result, are not very effective.

Your Bromo lethargy could just be blood sugar drop. iT Considerably increases insulin sensitivity, and when im on it i get a pump easier and so does my brother. It was reintroduced last year as a diabetis drug. You can and should have a slightly higher carb intake on it. Add 25-50g of carbs and see what happens.

Hmmm....I'm very low carbs right now because I'm hitting a very heavy fat loss. I've dropped 2in. off my waist in a month and no size drop off my bicep which is the hardest muscle for me to make grow naturally. I'll keep that in mind once I get to my target BF%. I'm only getting between 15-20gCarbs per day, but I don't get hungry either. Before I started TRT, I was told I was pre-diabetic. But after a diet change, and finding ways to lower my BP and reduce stress, I went back to "normal" in about 2 weeks. I also take in close to 0 added sugars. Mostly on a diet of Extra lean organic ground beef, natural free range chicken breasts and many many different kinds of fish. I am generous on the carbs on Saturdays though, and drink about 2 gallons of water/day because of my job and the TX heat.

That may also experience my "random" day time pumps, since Im not working out at the moment (strained rotator cuff) or taking creatine.
