    Starting hcg

I've been on test cyp for 11 weeks now. Lots to report on that journey along With new blood work as soon as I get time this week.

Thanks to reading these forums, I am now imagining testicular atrophy and am starting hcg tomorrow.

My doc and I are both very curious to see what happens.

Glad your doctor is at least curious. My endo refused to consider treating me with hCG .

Read the sticky on hCG if you haven't yet.

Wait till you feel the overwhelming sense of well being when you first start...it's amazing

Yeah, I can attest to that! I was over the moon last week or so. It's mellowed some now, but still feel, well, mellowed out!

I took my first shot of HCG today! 250iu, mixed with b-12 for some reason. (they did this at the pharmacy). Does anyone know how long it takes to kick in.? It's 12 hours later and I am feeling a burst of energy for some reason. Can't believe how easy it is to inject sub-Q!

    Here's the full update:

12 weeks into TRT. Currently running 80 - 100 mg of Test cyp each week divided into 2 shots of 40 or 50. The variance is due entirely to how it draws into the syringe and how I am feeling that day. Complete BS, for sure, but I'm human and that's how it works. For the record, I started at 100mg a week 12 weeks ago, kind of hurried it along with a few extra shots (all at the doctor) and then once it kicked in (about 3 weeks in), backed off a bit. I have a full spreadsheet I will post in a different thread showing injections and projected half lifes along with my actual blood work at various stages. It will make more sense then. Of potential interest to some is that Test injections really effect my mind / state of being. Too much really kind of locks me up - so I try to avoid getting too much. I am self injecting now, and my scrip is for 150mg a week. That is too much for my mental well being so I am walking it down to 80-100, again divided into 2 shots. Doing it one shot is too much of a mental roller coaster for me. I simply can't comprehend these guys that are doing 500mg - 750mg or more each week. That would drive me bananas - and seemingly doesn't effect them at all.

Here's my blood work from last week, taken about 3 days after my shot:
    Serum Test: 672 (348-1197)
    Free Test: 20.0 (6.8 - 21.5)
    LH <0.2 (1.7-8.6)
    IGF-1 331 (94-252)

    My initial test bloodwork was:
    serum test: 214 (348-1197)
    free test: 3.7 (6.8 - 21.5)

So my test is definitely in a good place. We did not test estradiol/e2/estrogen this time due to a mix up. It was perfect last time (number escapes me). I will do it again in 4 weeks now that I have added the hcg.

I am guessing that my LH is suppressed, as expected, thanks to the TRT. Also guessing that the HCG is going to turn this around. Looking forward to the potential uplift that so many have talked about.

My IGF-1 has been high for the two times I have tested it. I have no idea why this is. I'm 47, but am definitely a very young 47 (sometimes passing for my 30's), so perhaps this is part of it? This is irritating as I am contemplating supplementing it per some anti-aging books I have read. Possibly take it to 30 year old high levels of IGF-1 - I have 492 in a book titled "grow young with HGH", which also happens to be filled with breathless accounts of how amazing hgh is for everything from sex and sleep to fat loss and energy levels. Of course it makes little sense to add hgh when I'm already over the range. But who comes up with the range? And it sounds like slight supra-physiological levels of igf-1 could be good for me.

I'm already injecting pregnant woman piss, how bad could hgh be?

Love to hear any thoughts on hcg, test and hgh/igf-1. I will post my full test injection protocol along with all of my thoughts and experiences that have gone along with starting trt next week.

    Your Friend,

Your numbers look good. You'll definitely want to keep an eye on that e2 next blood work because HCG is expected to raise it up.

As for the GH, well, it doesn't get a lot of talk on forums because the medical community gets so much heat from the government about it. So most doctors are really hesitant and afraid to go near it. I believe Dr Crisler USED to use it, so maybe there's something on his forum, but he definitely stopped because of government intervention.

    Do keep us updated!

    24 hours later

My first shot of HCG seemed to sort of kick in pretty quickly - a few hours maybe and I was definitely feeling something. Unfortunately it is in a preparation mixed with methyl-whatever b-12, so I don't know whether it was the hcg or b-12. Regardless, I was incredibly, mmmm, aroused last night. There was no way to go to bed without hammering it out. My wife was out for a girls night so I had to wait up until midnight. Which I did.

When I woke up I could feel a ton of energy - it was pretty wild - and felt it most of the morning. 24 hours after the shot, I'm not feeling the same energy - things have settled down.

Now, as a general rule, I am almost always aroused and ready to go with my current protocol. Which is really nice . And my recovery time is..... pretty minimal. Last night it was kicked up a notch. But, I have no idea if it's the b-12, HCG or placebo effect.

I'm a little unclear on when to time HCG shots when running a 2 shot a week test protocol. I will let you know what I figure out.

What are your igf-1 level? I am 30 and tested a 350 on labcorp's ranges. I have no experience with supra levels of hgh although some guys report initial lethary when doing so. something about it messes with t3/t4 output.

I like your narrative in this this thread...it's funny in a way.

hCG has been called a neuropeptide in some circles meaning it has an effect on the brain that hasn't been totally figured out yet so it may be effecting you in the way you describe.

But like all things, unfortunately, it will settle down and while you will still get the benefits of hCG from a physiological perspective the "feelings" you have now will subside as the body acclimates.

Crisler prescribes hCG to men who are Primary for this exact reason.

It's either that or the b-12. If it's the b-12 I now understand why hungover rock stars get shots before they go onstage.

I'm tempted to show before and after shots of my sack like these guys do on their aas cycles. "Check out the pump I got on my HCG cycle". But that might start an ugly trend.
