    Lab Work modification??

Do you think your Dr. would care if you added a couple checks to your Lab Slip, you know, requesting additional tests? I mean, it's your money/Insurance, and your body....

This is only hypothetically of course... lol!

Dr. gives me lab slip and I take it to outside Lab.

Really, just adding additional tests, not forging any sigs, or prescriptions or anything like that?

Do not alter it. Call the doctors office and just plain ask him for the additional tests. They can fax it to the lab of your choice. Don't ruin the trust factor you need to develop with your doctor..

Drs are accountable for tests they order for necessity (waste) or don't order when needed they were needed (malpractice). also the insurance company pays for tests deemed necessary by your doctor.

Now I don't think you would get in trouble but just not worth it when you can ask for them.
