He scheduled me to do a blood test for Testosterone and Prolactin in 30 days and then follow up with an appointment.

    Any thoughts?
Does this doctor have any idea what is causing this elevation of prolactin? I think you need to see an endocrinologist.

Cabergoline is a powerful dopamine agonist, you should expect to experience an increase ln libido and just feeling a lot better in general. Make sure not to exceed your dose as iv been told on here 0.5mg twice weekly is the maximum limit.

After taking the Cabergoline (0.5mg 2x a week) for the last 5 weeks I did another blood test for T and prolactin:

    Total Testosterone 366 250 - 1100
    Free Testosterone 127.0 35.0 - 155.0

    Prolactin <0.3

So the Cabergoline obviously worked, lowering my prolactin to an undetectable level (before it was > 30). And my Test and Free T have both increased but the Total T hasn't gone up by much.

I have a follow-up appointment in one week with my doctor to discuss these results.

It's a no-brainer that my Total T is still way too low for a 27 year old. But how should I interpret the Free T result? It's almost to the top of the range. I'm now afraid my doctor is going to tell me it's too high to go on TRT or something.

I still feel like shit everyday and have to take Ritalin everyday just to be able to go to work. I'm to the point now where I put the pill and a drink next to my alarm just so I can get up at 8 am.

Any thoughts on this, guys? I'm really stressed out now that I don't understand how to interpret these results. What does it mean when Total T is low but Free T is high?

I still feel like shit and now have 1 week before I see my doctor. I'm trying to get get a game plan before I go in for the office visit.

Just got this update from my endo:

Your vitamin D level is good now at 40. You should take vitamin D 2000 units daily (available over-the-counter) now that you have completed the prescription strength vitamin D.

Your test for celiac disease was negative.

Unfortunately, I did not find a hormonal cause of your fatigue. At some point if you want to try testosterone replacement, let me know. Otherwise, you should follow up with your PCP.
Looks like I'm going to be starting some TRT soon!

I don't think I want to use my endo for the TRT though. He told me he's put people on T and then pulled them off to "get their natural T functioning again". That was a big red flag for me. My PCP said he would do TRT with me and I gave him Crislers documents to read. Before he wanted me to try Clomid or use the T gel if that didn't work. I'd like to do injections though, since I'd have to be injecting HCG anyway.

Are there any good ways to convince your doctor to give you injections over gel?

It just all depends on the doctor and their mindset. Unfortunately, when you are dealing with a doctor that is convinced that he can pull patients off of TRT so that they can restore their natty, he is probably going to be closed minded with exploring other options, like injections. Sadly, their egos get the best of some of them.

Well the misinformed guy is my endo. I'm running away from him back to my PCP who is a younger guy, like 35 and he's really open to working with me. I just don't know exactly what to say because even in Crisler's doc that I printed out for him Crisler himself says gel is better then shots.

Just tell him that at the end of the day, test is test, whether you rub it or inject it. Tell him that you do not want your girl, children, pets, or whatever living specie suits to come in contact with you. Therefore, you want to inject via IM or subQ. It really shouldn't be a big deal, but you know the guy better than anyone.

Thanks Vet, my girl did just move in with me recently so that's a solid reason why I don't want gel. The other reason is I just don't want to deal with the hassle of doing something daily when I can weekly. Plus Test cyp is way cheaper than gel in case I ever lose my insurance.

sorry to bump an old thread but i have a very similiar situation. i had all symptoms of low t, lethargic, low sex drive, difficulty getting / maintaingin erections. i went to see a Hormone replacement specialist, did NOT mention i have done AAS in the past for fear he'd turn me away / look at me like i was there trying to score some drugs or something. My results came back today, my Test level is low, 276 and my prolactin levels are way out of range, 49. Im getting an mri tomorrow to rule out any tumors, and im wondering... should i mention in mynext consultation that i wasnt honest about my past use of AAS? The very first thing this guy asked me was "ARE YOU HERE FOR BODYBUILDING PURPOSES, BECAUSE I WILL TAKE NO PART IN ANY OF THAT" so he totally sketched me out. Do you guys think i should "confess?" this is not going thru myinsurance so it should be off the books, and im $1500 deep already. I m afraid in trying to determine the cause of my high prolactin levels he might make me do more tests, where if i admit to past test use he might just say OH , duh. thats def why, lets get on with this. Or he might say"Oh well i dont think i want to treat you?" i dont know, would he say this? ADVICE!? im 35.
