How Much T To Start With?
Supposedly starting injections on Thurdsay, 5 July. Will initially be getting them weekly at the Dr's office so what would be a good starting point as far as the dose goes? I do not know which specific testosterone I will be getting but right now I am just glad to be getting injections. What a frustrating journey this has been...

probably will start you on 100, asking what is a good starting dose is kind of irrelevant cause likely the doctor won't care what you have to say.
In my honest opinion i think some should be started different than others. Like if you normal T levels are extremely low, like non existant, starting low on the t is fine because you will have improvements regardless, but for someone like me that wasn't that low by the end of the week I felt like shit, and was worse, i've worked my way up to 180 mg a week, but some people can obtain levels higher than me with just 80 mg a week.
I'm not implying the correlation between my higher dose and that i had higher levels its really irrelevant, just trying to say if you aren't all that low and the exo test causes your T to drop lower than you were naturally its going to suck big time.

Angrogel 1% (5 gram packet) dropped me from 231 to 108 total and 40.1 to 16.2. And yes I noticed it! Previous doc (I fired him) then put me on Androgel pump (6 pumps - 7.5 grams) and that seemed to get me back to baseline (based on symptoms not blood tests). I think the only real improvement I've noticed is an increase in libido most likely due to rise in DHT.
My wife (she is a certified nurse practitioner/midwife) is the one who got me this new doc appointment and she said he likes to treat people as much by symptom as test ranges so I am hoping he is willing to work with me and hear me out. He is the only one so far who will do injections. I had an appointment with another doc who supposedly did injections but after my wife spoke with his bosses (this is military medicine so it's a bit different than cilivial practice) they said no way to injections. Luckily another doctor (my new one) spoke to my wife when he saw how frustrated she was. After telling him my story he told her to have me come in and see him Thurday (she only spoke to him yesterday!) and get an injection. Will see how it goes. If this bombs out I am going to use one of the internet TRT clinics and just pay for it myself.

i agree with SEOINAGE, i am on 92 mgs ew split to eod and my levels are in the 800 and free above normal, but i am also on hCG and AI.
OP, did the doctor say what else he'll be giving you, any AI, hCG? BTW, its always good to start low then adjust from there, like SEO said, start with 100 mgs ew and go from there. i am assuming your doc is planing to do blood work 5 weeks later, right? keep us posted.

This thing won't let me post a reply. Something about certain words and having less than 25 posts. This is my 25th post so I should not have a problem after this post. Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3.

OK! It let me post this time. Apparently one of the words in this post was forbidden. Wonder which one it was?
Follow up blood work will be done 4-6 weeks after starting. AI's should not be a problem. If he won't get them for me my wife can. I think he will be okay with AI's. HCG is the wild card. I won't know his feeling on it until I see him Thursday. Based on my experience so far I have doubts... On the plus side my wife know this guy and she says he really like to help so we shall see where this goes. Plus he is a full bird colonel so nobody is going to tell him what he can or can't do as far as providing meds goes. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
So 100 mg seems to be a good place to start. Thanks guys!

FINALLY got my first injection!!! 100 mg test. cypionate . He wants to do blood tests on Monday which is way to soon but I will make sure he does them again in 4 weeks. At least this guy is willing to listen to me and work with me. He is going to let me do my own injections at home and says it is up to me whether to do them IM or subq. Making progress at last!

very good. if you don't mind the needle then i suggest to split that to twice a week, 50 mgs everything 3.5 days. yea way too soon for blood work, 4 weeks later is better.

It was IM and no big deal at all. I do want to go 2/weekly but will change to subq. When I wa in the Air Force and deployed to less than sanitary countries I had to get gamma globulin shots in the keyster. This stuff is thicker than testosterone and it had to be kept refrigerated!!! Needless to say this stuff was a pain in the butt! I think they used a 5 gauge needle...
