What are the short-term effects of alcohol? I feel better the day after drinking.
Hello all,
More often than not, I feel considerably better the day after I`ve been drinking considerable amounts of alcohol. Typically, libido picks up like crazy as well.
I was out drinking this Friday and did not feel well at all before I started drinking. Fatigue, brainfog, low energy and feeling heavy in my head. Even after I started drinking, this did not improve much at all and I even had to take a few painkillers for my headache.
On Saturday, I felt very mentally sharp and my body were feeling pretty good as well. Sure, I was hung over and not in my prime, but relatively speaking my body felt much better.
I was out drinking Saturday as well and by the evening, I once again did not feel very well. On Sunday, I felt GREAT and libido picked up like crazy as well. It still lingers today on Monday.
I tried searching around on the subject, but did not get any wiser. It seems like a lot of people experience an increase in libido the day after drinking, but I can`t really find out why.
Any ideas?
This may be an important clue for me in order to improve my situation. I don`t want to become an alcoholic in order to get well.
Thanks in advance,
Renholder

LOL the same thing happens to me as well.
When I drink heavy at night the next day my libido can shoot through the roof even if I feel like shit.
Orgasms are strong as well.
I do remember reading some research where they discovered that some of the byproducts from the metabolism of alcohol seems to have some type of neuro effect on the brain which can increase libido...I'll have to see if I can find it again...but it's out there for sure.
I am going to start a new thread on my recent experience with PT-141 last week while on vacation. I don't ever recall my libido ever being so out of control! My erections were crazy and orgasms teeth clenching.
What a great experience

Looking forward to the PT-141 story!
Something I have noticed is whenever I am under the weather a bit my libido goes high. And I have also felt the same thing with the drinking although I rarely get beyond a good buzz anymore. In my younger days I could drink like crazy and never get a hangover but not that I am older I get hangovers (maybe low T and hypothyroid are to blame more than just age). I really don't like them so I don't drink as heavily as I used to. Maybe once or twice a year...

I`ll be interested to hear more about this. I know from my friends that they typically have raging libido the day after drinking, so it`s not a new phenomenon to me.
For me, it may not be raging, but at least I feel NORMAL. And the interesting thing is that it`s not just libido either, but I feel very mentally sharp and physically fit.

I've kinda noticed this to.I'm thinking it might be because alcohol thins the blood so maybe better circulation?Just my thoughts..

Alcohol thinning the blood? I have been thinking about that myself.
I have high cortisol measured in blood in the morning. Outside the range actually. I wonder if alcohol regulates cortisol? If I read correctly, alcohol tends to increase cortisol though.
I want to take a 4X saliva test of cortisol to get a better picture there.
Here is my thyroid panel that I posted in another forum. I lack RT3, which I will test as soon as I can:
Anti-TPO <100: 51
Free T4 11,0-23,0: 17,3
Free T3 3,5-6,5: 6,5
TSH 0,20-4,0: 2,9
