    Why Would Someone Need TRT?

Just curious as to why someone would need TRT? Is it caused by long term use and abuse of exogenous testosterone and other AAS? I just watched Jose Canseco's video blog and he said he has to get it done often, but never explained why.

I only did 2 cycles in my life back while playing football. I am 37 with a T level of 141. Did that play a role? Maybe, but I was feeling like crap till I started my TRT. Now up to 450 after 15 weeks I feel better.

men testosterone production declines as they age, so TRT is basically replacing what they don't produce, and yes some are related to AAS abuse or misuse.

Agreed. I started TRT in my early 40s. I had never touched AAS.

Like Bass said, as we age our T declines. It's called male andropause , hypogonadism and many other things. Basically your endogenous T slows down to the point replacement is necessary. It can be caused by certain pathologies and come about at a young age as well. Pituitary adenomas (tumors) or testicular trauma can cause hypogonadism and so can AAS abuse.

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement is a wonderful thing. We are unbelievably fortunate to live in this time period where it is becoming more mainstream and its science is progressing. Our parents generation did not have this good fortune and we had to watch the debilitating effects of this declination on them, when they could have been so much healthier for such a greater portion of their golden years.

x2 I'm in the same boat so it has nothing to do with past AAS use for many or most of us.

To the few on here that are on TRT. How much test would you inject per week 100mg? 80mg? What do some of you need to get up to an acceptable level.

It all depends on the individual and how their body processes the exogenous T. An average may be around 100mg per week but it ranges anywhere from 80 to 200mg. It is, or should, always be based on blood work. Best to start low and titrate based on subsequent BW.
