    Lab??? What do they know?

I have what is a legit question for you guys. I know there is LabCorp and Quest.

My question is where do they come up with these ranges?? Just general studies? The reason I ask I because I see guys posting labs on here (me included) and give ranges and they are different. I also assume most if not all makes feel better/different at different levels of T.

I don't know if it's some mind game I'm playing with myself or what but since I received my labs results it seems I have felt even more sluggish and BLAH.

Sorry if this is silly. I have been in the medical field for years and have never seen a group of guys that understand the Low T side of things like you guys do. Bass, GD, Kel, Fit2bold just to name a few.

Just curious guys. Thanks for what you contribute to the board. I know a lot of people benefit from having you around.

Also I have searched high and low. With all the listed links of doctor searches and apparently there are no doctors in my area that know anything.

The ref ranges that labs use are basically a census ( if you will) of T levels in all men without regard to age. Then doctors use this to group all men saying as long as you fall in to this average there is no reason you should have any problems.

You can google a bit and find some studies that have T ranges by age group, and from what I've found scores between 200-400 total are most prevalent in men 70+. This being due to natural decline of course. How ever many doctors don't look at it like that. Thus it's a tough road trying find a good doc in the TRT world.

Thanks D you have now told me I have the T of a 70+ lol.

I know it's probably just a level of we're THEY say it's normal. But until you can find a doc that goes for protocols that are well like they are here. You will never know what you feel like.

Like I said before there are 8 guys at FD on TRT ranging from 34-56 and they all have about the same bloodwork, (I asked them) learned it here, lol. All their protocols are different.

    300mg every 3 weeks
    Gel 2 pumps in morn
    Gel 1 pump in morn.
    Blah blah blah

Most of them say try feel shittier than they did before. I said DUH I know why an they say "ah hell what do you know". All they know is Total Test Serum nothing else. It's almost like the docs don't even know that there are other factors to consider.

I guess my post is 2 fold.

Don't feel bad man. It'll work out for ya. I had a total of 440 but my free t was only .2 inside the reference range when I went on, but as you already know from our chats. I saw my gp and an endo with no help. Finally made it to a clinic paying cash for everything till my doc at the clinic took the moral high road and decided it wasn't right when they could offer to take insurance and write scripts vs people paying a cash payment every week for a protocol.

In a 50 mile radius all physicians do pellets or only use dumba$$ mg's per every dumba$$ weeks.

Sucks man. You may have to broaden your radius a bit. I mean if you have to drive a couple hours for a good doc it's worth it when you only have to see them 2-3 times per year for labs and script renewal.

Thank you Vette, essentially the ranges are merely for docs and GOOD docs will know how/when to treat various things by their own studies and history. Cool man
