    first lab work, 1 month into cycle-low t3 t4

liver and kidneys were "normal", test and estradiol apparently take two weeks for results here.

triglycerides were indicated as "low" with a result of 78mg/dl on a scale that shows only <150
    t3 indicated "low" 60.15ng/dl on a scale of 87-178
    t4 "low" 4.34 on a scale of 6.09-12.23

    any comments or suggestions?

the pituitary secretes Thyroid Stimulating Hormone to trigger the thyroid gland. the thyroid gland then secretes thyroid hormones in response.

you need to check your TSH levels to see if the problem is at the pituitary or at the thyroid level. if its a pit problem, tsh will be low. if its a thyroid problem, tsh will be high.

Either way, the treatment is almost the same. You may be needing thyroid hormone replacement. But if the problem is a hypo-functioning pit, then you need to do a more thorough endocrine panel to see if other hormones controlled by the pit are also low. That would then be a condition called pan-hypopit.

What is it that you are looking to evaluate?

FT4 and FT3 are assays measuring Thyroxine output by the Thyroid...there are other panels here that are needed as well to make a complete Thyroid assessment like TSH and RT3 and Thyroid Antibodies.

Based on what I see here I would suspect that you are in a state of Hypothyroidism.

Many of the same symptoms of Hypogonadism are the same for Hypothyroidism...are you presenting with any of them?

There's really not a lot here to go on...

Read the sticky on BW necessary to conduct a thorough hormone assessment.

thanks to both of you for the responses. it's incredibly difficult to get blood work done where i live. i literally had to indicate each item i wanted to be checked and without having a list printed out before going to the hospital, i had to recite everything that i could remember so t3 and 4 were easy enough. they literally didn't have any check list for me to go over, any specific male or female hormone panels, anything.

i do know that several people in my immediate family have hypothyroidism, i have another 4 weeks in my current test e cycle then 6 weeks of nothing/pct and i was expecting to go back at the end of pct to have additional bw done. i guess i have to have a list printed out for me next time but it sucks to feel lethargic at times in spite of a solid diet, sleep and 500mg's of test e each week.

Please read the sticky at the top of the HRT forum on finding a TRT Doc and you will see a list of BW that you need.
