Blood work question AST and ALT HIgh

I just got some blood work done. Wanted to make sure everything was straight before i started my next cycle . my doctor called me this morning and said everything looked normal except that my liver levels were high. He wants to do a liver ultrasound now. AST is at 41 and ALT is at 71. This is the first time i have ever done blood work. Is this something i should be worried about? My last cycle was a year ago. I posted this in another section but thought i might get some answers from this section too. Thanks guys kind worried about this.

Nothing to worry about at this point. Are you talking any OTC painkillers, alcohol, supplements, etc...?

Agree with bass....my Ast was 42 in 08 and hangs around 57 right now. Doc says don't worry about it till it's 2-3 times the norm.
(Alt has been around 72 since 08) Too many food items, proprietary blend products and other factors (like bass is asking about) that creep this up.
I would say use this as a baseline and every 6-8 months have another check on it to see where you are.
I use Milk Thistle if you want to read up on that to see if it's something you want to try.

I take creatine, protein, Multi vitamin, and BCAA. NO alochal, no OTC painkillers regularly.

I also have another question. My total test levels are at 360. Is that normal range? The doctor said that it is normal but i would like to see what other people think as i think it is on the low side. Im 28 years old if that matters. Thanks guys

Elevated liver enzymes are not a evaluation of liver function as it is a marker for inflammation somewhere within the body.

While your liver enzymes are slightly elevated they are nothing to worry about and an MRI is over kill and/or some one looking to make a few bucks on a needless test.

As noted, two to three times elevated over a consistent period of time would warrant such a test.

Total Testosterone levels at 360 pg/ml, while within the reference range, is at a level for a man in his 70's and not a man at 28 years of age who should be peaking right now.

Your Doc doesn't know what he's looking at...he's just looking at reference ranges.

Read the stickies at the top of the forum my friend and get help.

Thanks bro for the advice I had a feeling that this doctor was just going off of the reference levels and didnt know what he was talking about. Its hard to find a doctor out here that will read the test the right way. I guess i have to just keep looking.
