Testicles hurt after 6 weeks on Androderm

I'm 62 years old 5'11" 175 lbs. and in good shape. I workout with weights, do cardio regularly and eat clean most of the time. My recent blood test results showed my Total Test 440 (250-1200) and Free Test as 5.6 (5.1-56). All the other results in the full spectrum blood test were within range.
I told my doctor I wanted to improve my test levels and he put me on Androderm 4 mgs and I've been using them for 6 weeks. The past few days my testicles have begun to hurt. It was so bad earlier today I took the patch off and the pain is subsiding.
I've been reading the stickies. Should I be on hcg as well? Is the pain because the testicles are shrinking? I was very excited about the results I was getting from the patch but at the same time I don't want the pain or tiny testicles. Any guidance you can give me would be appreciated.

It will get better. It is your natural testosterone shutting down. If it does not go away after a few weeks go to the doctor. Some topical treatments(DHT derived androgens) can affect the prostate. Again give it a few weeks and if it gets severe go to the doc.

    Welcome aboard jj!

If you read the stickies then you should have learned about HPTA suppression when a man introduces exogenous Testosterone into his system.

What you feel are the early stages of Testicular Atrophy.

The atrophy seems to be more accelerated in guys >40+ as opposed to younger guys who can last longer before the symptoms present themselves.

You need HCG to reverse this as noted in the Sticky.

Dr. Crisler likes to prescribe 100iu of HCG daily for his guys on a transdermal and he's getting great results and so will you.

Thanks for the response. Is HCG available in any non injectable form?

No, it's a peptide that needs to be mixed with sterile water and injected subcutaneously.

Thanks. Giving myself a needle on a regular basis is not something I want to do. I'll just stop the Androderm and try to increase my test naturally as much as I can.

You brush your teeth every day so what's the difference? A tiny insulin syringe has virtually no pain whatsoever and take no more time to fill and inject than brushing your teeth.

Trying to raise serum levels naturally is hard enough let alone at your age...good luck.

Actually, HCG is available as a sublingual pellet, via doctor's prescription, that can be placed under the tongue and absorbed that way. Some people have success with it and some do not because they don't absorb it well that way.

My doc wanted to switch me from injections to the sublinqual pellet. He explained that it is the HCG peptide compressed into a pellet and many people have success using it that way. He also told me it was half the price of the injectable. If you absorb HCG this way, there are a couple advantages: 1) it costs less than the injection, 2) it is easier to administer, 3) it does NOT have to be refrigerated and travels well.

I elected to not go with the pellet because I get my HCG online from a good source for a lot less than the pellet would cost me from a compounding pharmacy. If you want to go this route and your doc is not up-to-date on the sublinqual method and you are in the US, IM me and I'll give you the compounding pharmacy name for your doc. Your doc can talk to this pharmacist and get the full scoop.

Thanks. That's great info. I'm going to see my doctor next week and I'll go over all this with him. I really want to get this right because the Androderm was working great until the pain began so I'd like to keep it up.

Of course you want to keep feeling good, who doesn't?

Don't rule out HCG injections so quickly. Give it a try...you will be surprised how well you will feel, the nice kick in libido and how easy it all really is.

If you don't like it after a few weeks you can always stop...but I betcha you don't

Thanks everyone. When I see the doc I'll ask him for the hcg . What about an Estrogen blocker? I've been reading about that as well.

Most likely you will need it, but BW will determine that and how much.

I have the same dull pain. Yes, it is the boys going into hibernation. i have been using the 1.62% gel for 7-8 weeks now and have the same symptoms. Use HCG if you are going to continue with this. I am kicking myself in the a$$ because of the situation im in right now. If you have questions about this stuff you are in the right place, there is a wealth of good knowledge on this forum.
