    High Blood Pressure

Seems my bp is going higher. Running around 130/92 the last couple of times it was checked. Normally runs ~117/78. How many of you guys on trt have this issue and what have you done to bring it back down?

Agree. It could be a myriad of things, ranging from other medications, liver enzyme elevation, kidney function, CBC related ... Many possibilities. Even could be stress or sleep related.

Post up any recent labs, your protocol, and historical information leading up to when you started noticing this. Just need more to work with to help throw some more ideas around.

My Doc states he does see elevated BP in some men once on TRT, especially if they are big guys to begin with. I've been on BP medicine for years, but mostly to control Migraine Headaches. Since starting TRT almost 3 years my BP has gone up somewhat but is controlled with Atacand & Amlodipine. My BP goes up significantly when I take NSAIDs like Aleve or Advil for extended periods. I'm on a large daily dose of Aleve right now for a shoulder injury and my BP has risen to 140/90 on some days. I usually run about 130/75.

same here API, my BP goes up with aleve, but man this shit works so good for pain and inflammation relief. i also read that most bodybuilders naturally develop HBP due to the tightness of muscles around the veins, not sure how much truth there is to it but its possible, and maybe that why most of us who go on TRT develop HBP, probably because we get so bulked up with muscle, not because of the drug. maybe!!!!

Mine decreased as well LT after I got dialed in on my trt.

My test levels were just so low I believe it had my entire system in distress..

Also my sleep was atrocious and just felt like a total mess!

I read from several sources that one of the sides of testosterone can be hypertension. Since I have never had it before it seems the most likely place to start. Especially considering I am losing weight and have been doing cardio for several weeks now.

SubQ T Cyp 50 mgs/every 3.5 days, armour thyroid 60 mgs, low dose apirin 62 mgs I think. Diet is improved. More chicken/fish and vegetables. Cut back on carbs maybe 25%?

Also losing weight (down 5% body fat over the last 2 months) and have been doing cardio for ~3 months along with hitting the weights.

    Latest labs from mid September:

    Total T 1420 (250 - 1100) ng/DL
    Free T 434 (35 - 155) pg/mL
    TSH .90 (0.34 - 4.82)
    FT4 .71 (0.60 - 1.35) ng/DL

On Monday I will be getting additional labs to include liver workup. Last liver tests were all good so not expecting any major changes there. Sleep is about the same as well as stress (very low). Don't know about the kidneys but certainly nothing going on there that is presenting itself (unless its the high bp!)

Curious about the NSAIDS. I have been taking a bit more than usual and you may have nailed it with your post! Your bp on NSAIDS is about on par with my current readings.

I wished I could blame it on excess lean mass but alas I can't. lol. Those NSAIDS however...

Drinking regularly can also cause high BP. Learned this the hard way. find a happy medium, like hormone replacement solutions. I think many here have dealt with both.

    Good luck!

Try some Hawthorne berry, celery seed extract and braggs apple cider vinegar. These are great natural options to help lower blood pressure. I started taking some at the beginning of my protocol 8 weeks ago just to be safe. When I went to give blood I was so nervous my heart rate was 115! BUT my blood pressure was 108/78. Not bad for someone worked up over that 16 gauge needle!

I've been drinking "regular" longer than I care to say but it is possible it may have caught up to me at last. I hope not!

Good numbers indeed! I might try a more natural method at first if this high bp trend continues. First I will stop the NSAIDS and see what that gets me. Thanks for the suggestions.
