Switching from clinic to TRT doc?
I really don't mind working with a Clinic for my trt needs.I have more control ,more choices etc .
It is a little expensive ,but i can't put a price on how much better i feel on trt.
It is ,for most people, a little unorthodox to say the least,to get your pins and Cyp through the mail ,delivered to your doorstep without seeing a doctor face to face.
My So, is one of those people.
No matter how many times i explain that i do not need to see a doctor face to face every week to get treated, she still thinks there is something fishy going on.
It doesn't help that she had to find out about my treatment 6 months into it,by finding my HCG in my medicine basket.
So i have decided to try to find someone in the NY city area that will treat me.
I was not clinically low when i started trt,but i had all the symptoms, my testosterone came in at 270 range 197 to 720.
Before going the clinic route i was told by a gp and a urologist ,that for my age at the time (37) i was in the normal Test range.
Has anyone here done the switch?Last edited by swllce; 10-07-2012 at 09:08 PM.

First of all your level was below normal, the new range is 349 to 1197. Yes I made a switch from a clinic to HRT doc, I am very lucky to find her, she and her husband are on TRT, it's the best thing I've done making the switch. Much cheaper and more convenient.
BTW, the new law in the US is now mandatory to see the doc face to face at least once a year, if your clinic hasn't told you yet something is not right with them.

I am somewhat in the same situation as you are. I have someone that's local who I am in the process of linking up with but the back and forth for visits and cost are high so that's something I am evaluating at the moment.
It's your body and your health although your SO is affected.
I was also told my range was normal by two docs for my age which was not true.
Good luck with whatever you do.

If a man is under the care of a licensed Physician who is prescribing controlled substances the FDA (especially if out of state) is very clear that there must be one face-to-face encounter every 12 months. IF the OP's clinic is not requiring this it will only be time before they are shut down.
I have always used a TRT Doctor and for many reasons the most important being the more intimate the care that I receive...it's not a mill.

I have never been to a clinic but I will say that in the public/insurance domain there is an incredible diversity of knowledge to flat out malpracticing docs when it comes to TRT. I would not switch docs until I found one with an established reputation that I knew could treat me appropriately.
One tip: avoid endocrinologists. Despite their common reputation amongst the public as hormone doctors, they are predominantly diabetes doctors and to a lesser extent thyroid docs. An expert in HRT is likely to be an internist who specializes in this population or a urologist.

I have found a local endo who is working with me.
He seems ok,though as Endocrinologists go hcg and ai is not part of their protocol.
Unless needed.
I told him about the benefits of hcg and managing e2.
I printed out dr Chrislers protocol to back up my poit of wiew.
He told me ,if me and my wife want to conceive in the near future he would consider Hcg or chlomid for a while.
For now i will continue with hcg as i have some on hand.
My e2 just came in at 41, my baseline is 15
My testosterone was 900 ,a bit high. free t was 31.8,shgb24,bio available T 601.Note that the bloods where drawn 48 hrs after 100 mg im test C .
The doc is now suggesting to stay on the same dosage and retest in 2 weeks mid cycle.he wants to then lower the testosterone to see if the e2 will come down with it. I am a bit sceptical to his approach, the high e is probably due to me dropping my ai for the past 6 months and switching to bi weekly injections.A low dose of an AI would probably be in order at this point.Last edited by swllce; 01-25-2013 at 11:29 AM.

Thanks 49!
Picking up my TestC today at the pharm!
I was hoping some of our senior members would give some advice on my previous post.
My main concern is my endo dropping me down to 100 mg test c / wk, to deal with my recent spike in e2.
First of all i do not think it will work without a AI, and second i won't have any extra test C for a possible blast in the future.
I am staying on my HCG regimen ,he will not prescribe it, so i get it on my own.
