DHEA is best at the top of the reference range. Read the sticky on HCG and Pregnenolone and you will see info on DHEA.

Can't do much for DHT unless you are using a transdermal.

Don't know how old you are but you could find an anti aging Doc who would probably want to see your androgen levels higher.

I'm only 31. Really would like to avoid direct TRT in the immediate future, though it appears inevitable as I get older based on current labs.

Your serum levels are low for your age.

LH and FSH are good so the boys are slow to produce that's why your DHEA is low as as all. DHEA is synthesized from Pregnenolone in the testes.

Start supplementing 50 mg of both Pregnenolone and DHEA (get both from www.lef.org) this will help with down stream production while doing you much good for a lot of other health reasons.

It's possible to increase DHT by increasing your muscle mass. More muscle = more test = more DHT. Easier said than done I know. Diet can play a part in this as well but it's still long term.

Do you think using a transdermal is a bad idea?

    Wow never saw a DHEA range like this SD421 61 - 1636.

I thought it was like 60 to 600,I know ranges are not the same for all labs but man that seems high.

^^^Not at all...if it's effective for the man using it and fits their lifestyle.

My point is sub-dermal 5-ar will convert Test to DHT at elevated levels in some men...just something to consider.

^^^My DHT went through the roof when I was on transdermals. Came back to normal when switching to injections. Remember the accepted "norm" or range is just an average on a scale. DHT is not a bad thing at all, it just get a bad rap. Well, if your prone to MPB that's a whole different issue!

    OH!!!!

I've used transdermal Preg and DHEA for more then 3 years and my DHEA-S levels were mid range...not optimized.

My Docs wants me on 50 mg of both micronized DHEA and Preg on top of it...I stopped buying the transdermal than as it's too expensive and wasn't doing it for me and will now stick to the pills till nex BW.

It's all about absorption Lovbtes, for some it works great and others a failure...we'er all different

Here's my personal view on it; if you can afford the transdermals and you get a good response than stick with it; otherwise go with micronized DHEA and Preg pills or better yet sub-lingual as they both are showing to be effective at increasing serum levels and it's cheap to boot.

OK good stuff. I appreciate you taking the time to spell it out for me and makes sense. I think I will go with the micronized dhea and preg as well.

    Thanks again.

I've actually read some papers written by clinicians that state it may be impossible to increase both serum levels no matter the mode of transportation.

That said, I see more and more TRT Doc's in the know say that they are getting very good results with micronized DHEA...micronized "anything" should in theory provide for better absorption before the first pass effect.

I will post DEHA-S levels next BW...should be interesting...and save me a ton of money as transdermals are not cheap!

Totally agree! I ALWAYS tell guys even on full TRT to supplement with pregn and DHEA so you are not missing any "steps" for your body and mind.

G I wasn't getting the absorption I wanted with the compounded cream either. I added 50mg micronized DHEA a couple months ago. My DHEA-S level went from a paltry 104 to 254 in that time frame. In retrospect though I would recomment starting at 25mg and adjusting with BW as it can effect other levels (E2) as well. My E2 moved up 7 points, which I needed anyway!
