Testosterone: More Is Not Always Better
Great read fellows: http://jcem.endojournals.org/content/94/12/4665.full
In summary, whereas the concept of using an aromatase blocker to enhance endogenous testosterone production was an attractive one, it does not appear to be a viable approach for preventing age-related declines in bone mass or in improving parameters of body composition in men. These findings also suggest that as males, we should perhaps be just as interested in our estradiol levels as we seem to be in our testosterone levels , if not more so. For many reasons, however, such a dramatic change in focus seems unlikely.

ha! My E levels were high (52 > 50), but my endo didn't even bring it up.

Thanks for the share - good read.
I didn't have much knowledge about E levels, and more importantly controlling them, until I read more on the forum.

this seems to be consistent with what is often discussed here - that hormonal BALANCE is what we want to accomplish.

Good read and I would recommend it to anyone who is learning more about HRT.
On this forum, we are pretty good about exclaiming the benefits of estradiol, and why we don't want it too low. Namely, as this article stresses, estradiol is critical for healthy bones.

I know one thing I'm going to avoid anastrozole use altogether. I notice a dramatic drop in strength almost immediately upon implementing it, within a week of use. And this is every time. I know there are plenty of other negative things to this drug. I picked up some DIM, and some zinc, since my e2 wasn't too bad without ana that i will try to keep it under control without it.

A happy balance between testosterone and estrogen is what we all strive for but i find it so hard to control. Probably the most difficult hormone for most men to get a handle on.
Thanks for sharing that GD.

I've read on Dr. Crisler's forum about using Zinc citrate, 160mg per day, in divided doses in a 25:1 ratio with copper to control E2 conversion.

Brazensol - Do us a big favor and look for the "Dr. Gordon" thread and tell us more about his Zinc and Copper ratio. I don't go to his forum much anymore as I spend so much time here but that information would benefit that specific thread from what you've learned.
Thanks man,
gd

I know I'm E2 sensitive. On HRT at my prescribed dose of 175mg per week and running it 2x a week split in 1/2 my E2 is around 30 but if I decide to bump up the test to say 400+ for some reason or run another compound with it I know I need an AI since last time it spiked at 295.
Honestly I didnt really feel anything or have any BAD sides I just didnt have any GOOD sides like I was expecting.

That was pretty much all the info in the thread thus far. The book being referenced is apparently out of print. Amazon has used ones for a mere $299.00 so I think I'll pass for now! I tried an internet search for Dr, Mark Gordon and really didn't come up with much. As far as I can tell he does not have a forum. It does appear that Dr. Crisler thinks well of him. Sorry I got nothing else to report...
