    Dosing Question

If I have a vial of 200mg of Test Cyp and I only want to take out 100mg.

Are there any problems with taking out 100mg putting the vial in the fridge and then take out the remaining 100mg a week later?

I know this is probably a simple question.

    Thanks!!

Do you mean a vial...or are you talking about an ampule? It is glass and you need to break the top off?

If it is an amp, do not just stick it in the fridge. Maybe you can preload the rest in another syringe and it will last for a week. Others can give you some better feedback on that.

If it is a multi-use vial (with the rubber stopper on top) than maybe it is 200mg/ml but you have more than 2 ml.

I would not leave any liquid exposed to the elements for any period of time.

On the other hand, I have heard of numerous people who put their drugs in a syringe and traveled with them so they didn't have to travel with the entire bottle of oil. I imagine this is done all the time.

I'd recommend giving your pharmacy a quick call just to confirm. You can usually talk to a pharmacist within minutes. Might take your doctor's office days to weeks.

i have test cyp in 1 ml vials, 200 mg/ml. i "load" the entire 1 ml into a 3 ml syringe, inject .5 ml IM, (a 100 mg dose) then put the syringe which still has .5 ml of test cyp in it, back in the closet (after capping the needle). (i am not aware that testosterone cypionate needs to be refrigerated. according to drugs.com test cyp should be stored at "room temp", 68-77 degrees and "protected from light"...like in a closet.)

then i am already to go for my next injection. i do wipe the needle with an alcohol swab before injecting.

swab the needle before storing and change the needle before injecting the second

Sorry Harley,to clarify it is best to change the needle before injecting, not the syringe just the needle. The original needle has been through a rubber stopper, into your muscle and then stored for a week. A fresh needle will guarantee sterility and a less painful injection

^^^ Correct. Don't risk infection and swabbing a used needle with alcohol does not guarantee a sterile apparatus. Always use a fresh sterile needle. Not worth gambling for infections!

what fit said, DO NOT REUSE the same needle. as JV noted if its a vial with a rubber stopper just simply pull 0.5 ml and leave the rest in there for next injection.

No sense in re-using a needle... it costs like 10-20 cents at most for a new needle. Meanwhile, just re-using a needle once will put more trauma to your muscle because the needle is quickly dulled.

Let alone the added risk of infection, even if it is minor... it's still "greater".

It's a vial with a rubber stopper. I haven't received it yet. I was just curious after the rubber has been compromised once with a needle, is it reasonably safe to stick it again to get the rest out or store it in a syringe like mentioned above?

    Thanks for all the responses!!

Reading through the responses, you guys have pretty much answered my questions. Thanks again!!

If it has a rubber stopper it is meant to be used multiple times. It is literally called a multi-use vial.
