Is TRT right for me thread?

Hi everyone. Im new to this section of the site. On the 27th of this month my doc will be tunning a full blood test on me to see about bring on trt.

I was recently diagnosed with colitis and when he took my blood I asked him to test my testosterone levels . When the tests came back, he said that I have very low test levels (didnt give me any info).

Anyway. Thats why im here researching trt now. I was originally going to do a cycle of test e starting this month but was advised to hold off on the juice till I get my BW done.
anyway.... Is there a "is trt for me?" Type thread that gives all the info on what trt is, and aims to do?

im a little upset that I have to hold off on my bulk this winter :/ blah

I am not extremely versed on TRT like some of these gurus but there are often times things that can be done to restart your HPTA that you might check into before just accepting TRT as our new way of life.

If you have bothersome symptoms of low Test and it is backed up by blood work, I would say it is worthwhile.

Don't take it lightly though, it has downsides. It requires a lot of pinning (104 Test injections and 104 hCG per year for me) and the cost can get up there. You will need periodic blood work and doctor's visits. It can take a while to get your levels right...some guys are frustrated for quite a while.

Definitely read the stickies in this section (at the top, labeled "important").

You can ask for copies of blood and lab results from your Doctor and must be provided to you by law. Time to start a log!!

Im going to start reading the stickies.tonight when im off work.

Ill refer back to this as I have questions arise.

First one. My doc is my gasto doc / family friend. He isnt an "endo?"... What tests should I have him run? Is it called a "full blood panel"? Or do I have to write down a list of each specific thing I want tested?

Good thing about him is I could pretty much get whatever script I perfer to have. Ranther then going to someone who may be more on the conservitive side.

There is a list in the stickies of what you shuold consider looking at.

Also, its good that you have a doctor you like and will work with you. But be up front with him and if he isn't an expert in testosterone replacement , then I would try to find one who is that you can work with. TRT is a lot more than just getting the right drugs.

Great advice above. Full blood work and analysis is where you start. Get your BW copies ahead of time and post it here for review. That way it gives you a leg up when you see your doctor next. Preparation and self-education is key. Remember this is a long journey, not a cycle. If at all possible, and I mean this seriously, it should be avoided if your HPTA can function reasonably well and lifestyle changes can be made to improve your T levels.

HRT's last sentence above "nails it" in my opinion.
