Is your wife on -board with your therapy ?
After feeling sluggish for a few years and just assuming that its normal for my age,48, I found an article on low t symptoms and it basically listed everything that Im feeling. Well , I mentioned my finding to my wife after showing her my past 2 blood work results for this year and she said that it must be something else. Not very supportive at all. Im obviously moving forward without her blessing, but I just wanted to see if anybody else has had to deal with an unsupportive spouse.thanks

Zero support here. As long as it doesn't effect her day. Never asks how you doing, feeling, etc. Mine started with a pituitary tumor which is obviously a little disconcerting. But, our path has been over for some time, just a matter of paperwork.
Where are you in DE?

Newark. Kel you helped me find a doc and Im just waiting for the appointment date next month. Sorry to hear about your issues at home , that sucks. I sometimes wonder about my relationship too. Ill update you on what doc says after my appointment next month. Thanks for your help, makes me feel good that there may be an end to feeling like shite.

My wife gives my injections...she actually got upset when I considered the possibility of ever discontinuing... So, yes she's definitely on board.

Wife has been supportive throughout. Was actually insulted when I started giving myself the injections and quit asking for her help. She has been very pleased with the benefits of Trt in regards to my demeanor and ofcourse sexually. The only concern has been if we decide to have another child. But I felt so horrible I did not want to wait another 3-4 years to start, and she agreed.

My wife is all for it. (I use a topical though. I'm not sure if she would be so supportive if I was doing injections.)
She does however think I am a little obsessed with my lifting. (She also thinks I am too obsessed with this website.)
Good luck with your lady.

Ah, now I remember. Sorry, get a lot of pm's! Newark huh, great town. I may be at Deer Park tomorrow actually. I'll be seeing the doc next week myself. You'll like him just be upfront and honest with your history and exactly how you want to be treated.

Appreciate it TR!

I am new to this. I started with Testim gel for a couple weeks, 4 months ago. Didn't like it, and didn't like the possibility of passing the Test on to my wife or daughter.
When I mentioned moving to injections, my wife was not supportive. She felt injecting stuff seemed dangerous, and unwarranted. Only heroin addicts and steroid nut cases would do injections, not her husband! Still, it is my body and I was sick of feeling like sh*t, so I proceeded how I saw fit. I mean, I had a legit Rx from a doctor, based on blood work showing low T. And I proceeded to discuss my situation more with my ex-grlfriend, who is a nurse and showed me how to inject, than my wife. My wife didn't like that, and since then has come around with what I am doing, and my serious, methodical approach.
So, 4 months in, I will say she is supportive. But like someone else said, she thinks I am too obseesed with this website! :P

My wife got me to go to the doctor in the first place. I was in bad shape mentally and physically- I'd get winded walking up a flight of stairs, and I'm normally very fit. Sex still worked but nothing else did.
She's been very supportive throughout. The only thing she can't do is injections- she can give shots to animals but can't stick a needle in me.

Don't depend on anyone else to inject you. Learn it all yourself. This will help:

Yeah, my wife is on board! I can't imagine what it would be like any other way. There isn't much we don't agree on, but I know friends who are in similar positions as some of you guys, and I truly feel for them.

Well, SQ is meant for the fat layer. I can't do quads either (wouldn't anyway.) Do your SQ a couple inches from the belly button and obliques if needed. You can also use a 1/2" needle, maybe 25-27 ga for IM or SQ to keep it simple. IM at that length would be for low fat areas only, e.g. delts, quads, etc. person dependant. I plan on ordering some 27's in a couple days.

My wife can't wait for me to be back to my old primal self! She is SO ready for that, as am I!! I can't imagine why a spouse wouldn't want the other to be the best they can be.

Good question Tripperdogg. This is how it has worked out for me. Maybe this will help in your situation.
I’m 45 years old and about a year ago was becoming real concerned about my mental fog, focus, loss of interest in about anything, low energy, low sex drive and lack of gains in the gym. Did my own reach after hearing all those low T ads. Went to my primary family doctor and he pretty much said I was crazy because my T was fine at 390!
Read somewhere to check out local compounding pharmacies and ask a pharmacist for recommendations on doctors who write scripts for Test, hCG and AIs. Did that and found a great doctor. I have been working with him for about a year now.. Started off slow with androgel , then test cream and now test cyp. My T is now around 1250 (looking at maybe lowering a bit) and I have seen a big difference.
Along the way I have been keeping my wife informed. I mentioned my research above and along the way I had been sharing that with her and asking her input. She is an RN and was skeptical (HRT isn’t something they study in school or really ever hear about in normal practice. I total her that it was my decision but that I would like her support wihile I “tired it out”. I total her it would make me feel better if she would help me monitor the results, because I might not notice. I told her that as far as blood work my doc would be monitoring everything every 3 months (which he is) and that if things started look askew I would stop. Getting her involved in this way seemed to help with communication.
When I switched to the Test Cyp. she agreed to give me the injections—now twice a week. This has help me since she is a nurse and knows what she is dowing. I really don't even feel the shoots she gives me in the glutes.
Since then, WOW what a difference. I think I have my E2 in check (think I was taking too much AI)… that has made all the difference in my results.
She has defiantly seen a difference in my interest, focus and sex drive. She has been telling me she has been seeing nice changes in my body and that has been great motivation for me. Did I mention the sex has been great!!
She has been so impressed (maybe she wants to keep up with me lol) she decided she wanted to see my Doc. about 8 weeks ago. So, she went from skeptic to a true believer.
She had has been under treatment for Hypothyroidism for years and been on Synthroid though her old doctor. My doc has put her on a pretty high dose of Armour Thyroid and also put her on Test Cream!! After about the 5th week, WOW what a difference. Her sex drive is pretty much non-stop right now AND she said she has lost about 6lbs. Way back in the day she use to do bikini contest and now she has said she as aspirations of getting back in that kind of shape. Now I might be the one that can’t keep up!!
So my advice to you is keep your wife informed, let her know about your research finds. Let her know its your decision, but you want her input and you would really like her to help you keep track of changes in your mood, outlook, energy, body, and yes—sex drive.
Overall, I have been very satisfied with my experience so far. I guess I have always been hard to please, so the one thing I am still working on/trying to change is the amount of muscle I have gained. I was hoping for more there but hoping there are things I maybe can change in my diet that will help with that.
Best of Luck with the Lady.

Thanks for the info T-Man. My wife is a nurse anetisist and has her masters. So when I tell her my research, she usually rolls her eyes and says i'm crazy. After 22 years of marriage, I think she likes the dosile me, I always had a much higher libido than her, and she probably doesnt want me begging again. Tough crap, I want the old me and to just feel GOOD for a change. I will take your advise though and keep her in the loop. I bet she probably has hormone issues too, but doesnt want to pursue them. maybe she will after she see's the changes in me when I finally get myself squared away. Thanks

Mine is on board and has given me injections in the glutes.I do the delts and at one point quads but stopped quads.I can now do the glutes myself. She has liked the changes in me as far as being crabby.I like the changes in me as far as more energy,a sex drive again,76LB weight loss,Big strength gains in the gym.All pluses but I to am like Kel and even TRT can't save a marriage.

Tripperdogg, sounds like we have a lot in common. Been married 21 years here. Only difference for years it was my wife that was the aggressive on (not that there is anything wrong with that !!) Think part of that for me has been that I have always been a little on the low side as far as T, but I had never pursued it till about a year ago. I am pretty sure I have more T now than at any point in my life.
I had long thought my wife may have and some hormone issues too. It took me forever to get her to get her thyroid checked and sure enough there was an issue there. For about 5 years that as far as she wanted to go, but through my own research I knew there were other ways to treat it beside the synthroid route. Now she has finally gotten a full panel done with my doc and she is working through the other issues and she is feeling great. Starting to act (and look) more like her old self again.
Maybe it’s because nurses are around medical stuff so much and don’t enjoy the process. Guess when you know how the sausage is made so to speak you try to stay away from it in your own personal life. I know my wife is always talking about hypochondriacs and those that engage in drug seeking behavior they doesn't want to do anything that even seems like tit might be going down that path.
Anyway, best of luck.
